Chivas Brothers Brand Director Sophie Gallois on the new 38yo Royal Salute whisky: “A tribute from Chivas Brothers to the proud Scottish spirit and to the fiery and powerful history of the land where Scotch whisky was born.” | |
UK. Chivas Brothers has introduced 38yo Royal Salute to its portfolio of premium Scotch whiskies.
The new addition is named after the Stone of Destiny – Scotland’s historic symbol of sovereign power – and reinforces the company’s significant influence on the ultra-premium sector, the firm said.
Royal Salute 38yo is available in travel retail and domestic markets at a duty free price of US$399. Chivas Brothers Brand Director Sophie Gallois commented: “Royal Salute 38yo will be released worldwide on a permanent basis, as the enduring pinnacle of Scotch whisky making.”
Gallois added: “It offers rich notes of cedar wood and almond, with a sherried oakiness. Dried fruits linger with an assertive spiciness, making it the ultimate experience for the connoisseur.”
Royal Salute 38yo is presented in handcrafted materials, including a porcelain flagon, with a gold plated stopper inspired by the hilt of ancient Scottish swords.
The brand showed a +15% sales increase in 2004 and the 38yo will help to build on this performance, Chivas said. The Royal Salute portfolio also includes the trophy-winning 21yo, limited-edition 50yo and The Hundred Cask Selection.
