The Glenlivet’s latest travel retail exclusive family |
UK. Two new references of The Glenlivet, exclusive to travel retail, will be launched in March, initially through World Duty Free.
The new lines will complement the successful The Glenlivet 15yo travel retail exclusive which has been given updated packaging since its relaunch last August (click here for earlier story).
NÃ durra, Gaelic for natural, is a 16 year old single malt. Non-chill filtered and matured in first fill ex-bourbon casks, it provides a premium addition to The Glenlivet range.
The second exclusive, The Glenlivet 12 year old First Fill is matured solely in ex-bourbon casks.
Both were developed as part of parent company Chivas Brothers’ commitment to growing The Glenlivet brand. The single malt whisky posted a +9% sales increase across all markets last year.
The Pernod Ricard-owned company has targeted price points either side of the existing offer from The Glenlivet, thus offering a range to suit all travellers.
The Glenlivet 12 year old First Fill is to retail in travel retail at £24.99 (US$47 at today’s exchange rates), the 15 year old at £28.99 (US$55) while Nà durra is to retail at £34.99 (US$66)
The Glenlivet 12 year old First Fill and The Glenlivet 15 year old are mainly intended for intra-EU duty paid travel retail. NÃ durra is aimed primarily at North Americans and north European travellers.
The new range will be available from next month through World Duty Free which helped to develop the concept. The UK airport retailer will also have a period of exclusivity for NÃ durra.
