Cinco Jotas launches renewed range and image in Spanish duty free

Spanish company Osborne has launched a renewed product range for its Cinco Jotas Pure Iberian Bellota Ham, backed by a new brand slogan: “Spain’s National Treasure”.

These changes aim to further consolidate Cinco Jotas as an international brand in the fine food category, the company said.

In duty free and travel retail, the premium packaged and extended range is already available in 16 Spanish airports, as well as in Miami International Airport and in JFK International Airport T7 since November.

The new range is currently being showcased by World Duty Free Group at Madrid-Barajas Airport’s main terminal T4. In the personalised promotional space, travellers can discover the new product range and enjoy a taste of Cinco Jotas sliced by a Master Carver while learning about the brand heritage and the natural environment where the company’s pigs are bred and raised.

“The uniqueness and quality of our legendary Jamon is the result of our refusal to cross breed our pure Iberico pigs. Today, they are still raised in total freedom in our Spanish thousand-year-old oak meadows where they feed on acorns and other natural nuts, herbs, and plants. This, along with our traditional handmade curation process in the unique location of Jabugo, has made it one of Spain’s national treasures,” Osborne explained.

The renewed product assortment includes travel-friendly pre-sliced formats (80g and 40g), a variety of gifting proposals, as well as some innovative products such as “Natural Recipe” Loin (without paprika) and Presa Iberica.

About Osborne and Cinco Jotas

Osborne manufactures and markets a wide range of food and beverage products, and its business is divided into two major divisions: Iberian Products and Wines & Beverages. In addition, Osborne owns restaurant businesses and continually develops its iconic brand, the Osborne bull, through licensing and franchising.

The company’s Iberian Products division is headquartered in Jabugo, Spain, and dates back to 1879. Its brand portfolio includes Sanchez Romero Carvajal and Cinco Jotas, synonymous with the highest quality and 100% pure acorn Iberian ham. The best pieces are selected in Jabugo and sent to the finest restaurants and specialty stores worldwide.

Cinco Jotas has received the maximum three-star rating at the Superior Taste Awards three years in a row, qualifying the brand for the Crystal Taste Award – hailed as the top recognition given to a company for “consistent proof of excellence”.

With over 130 years of experience, Cinco Jotas attributes the quality of its Pure Bellota Iberian Ham to its free-range pigs which are raised in total freedom in the Spanish Dehesa. The Iberian ham is then cured in the village of Jabugo. Located at an altitude of 658m in the Sierra Aracena y Picos de Aroche Natural Park, these Dehesas de Sierra Morena were declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO. The intense rains, mild climate and Atlantic winds create an ideal environment for curation, according to the company.
