New to duty free: The shelf talker for Codorníu Cava |
SPAIN. Spanish winemaker Codorníu has introduced a series of shelf talkers for travel retailers detailing the USPs of the company’s best-selling wines in five languages.
The new communications material informs duty free shoppers about the history of the product, how it is made, with tasting notes, details of medals and awards, and food matching ideas.
The shelf talkers are available for Codorníu Cava, Raimat, Scala Dei DOC Priorat and Bodegas Bilbainas DOC Rioja wines. Five languages are included for each product: English, Japanese, Spanish, Russian and German.
The information included on each shelf talker is as follows:
Codorníu Cava: Against the backdrop of an impressive vaulted cellar, the marketing message runs: “Since Codorníu’s introduction of the Traditional Method to Spain in 1872, we have continued to impress the world with our best Cavas. Intense aromas of citrus, green apples or red fruits, full of freshness and vivacity. Delicate bubbles and persistent in flavour.” Four medals awarded. Food matching symbols: seafood, aperitifs and fish.
Raimat wines: Illustrating a vineyard scene, the message runs: “Raimat wines are a product of a perfect union between viticulture and winemaking, easy drinking wines with maximum fruit intensity, flavour, elegance and complexity. Notes of mature red fruits and dark chocolate, spices and dried fruits with some smoked cedar. Long finish with well integrated, elegant oak and fruit tannins.” Four medals awarded. Food matching symbols: Cheese, paella and pasta dishes.
Scala Dei DOC Priorat wines: Using an image of the slate soil on which the vines grow, the message runs: “Scala Dei wines are concentrated, fresh and fruit intense; a complexity of nuances which make the Scala Dei wines particularly unique. Deep, dark cherry colour and violet hues. Intense varietal aromas, lingering notes of ripe red fruits, strawberry jam, intermingle with distinct mineral notes from the licorella slate soil.” Three medals awarded. Food matching symbols: cheese and meat.
Bodegas Bilbainas DOC Rioja wines: Featuring an image of the wine barrels in a cellar, the message is: “Bodegas Bilbainas is a reflection of the history and identity of Rioja. Our top quality wines are classic-traditional or modern-progressive, with elegant and intense nose, hints of red fruits and liquorice, spices, tobacco leaf and vanilla. Supple, rounded and well-balanced wines.” Three medals awarded. Food matching symbols: Cheese, poultry and paella.
