Compass Inflight becomes fully operational in Netherlands

NETHERLANDS. As part of the development plan established by the inflight division of Compass Group and as already announced in February, both ILC (Inflight Logistics Company) and EIS (Eurest Inflight Services) have set up operations in the Netherlands. This expands the group’s European network, and is line with Compass’ aims of leadership in the Mediterranean Rim inflight catering market.

For this reason, ILC and EIS have both been created. With an independent management structure, both companies are subsidiaries of their respective mother companies: ILC with headquarters in Paris and EIS with headquarters in Majorca.

ILC performs management duties linked to all types of inflight related activities, including equipment logistics management and outsourcing of services. EIS, as a caterer, can supply any airline with traditional catering services of all kinds.

Both companies are located in Amsterdam Schiphol Airport. EIS has direct access to the ramp; their facilities comprise two buildings, one for operations and one for storage.

Compass has stressed that ILC and EIS fully manage and are responsible for the use of these facilities, which have been leased in full legal compliance with its current owner, Gate Gourmet International (GGI). The only relation between GGI and EIS / ILC is a space rental.

The Compass Group inflight division has sought to clarify certain information which appeared in the press and stresses the fact that the premises used at Schiphol Airport are totally independent. No other commitment to the lease contract exists between GGI and EIS / ILC.
