Corey Law named Group General Manager for Airport Retail Group (Australia)

AUSTRALIA. Corey Law has been appointed Group General Manager at Airport Retail Group (Australia), joining the Australian airport food & beverage operator after almost a decade with SSP Group and its predecessor business Airport Retail Enterprises (ARE).

Founded in 2008 by Brisbane-based entrepreneur George Drivas, Airport Retail Group operates 13 dining venues in Brisbane and Sydney airports and employs more than 300 staff.

In his newly created role, the highly rated Law takes lead responsibility for the company’s operations across the two airports, supporting the state General Managers while helping drive the next phase of growth for the privately owned business.

Law brings more than 20 years’ experience to his new employer, spanning airports, hotels, resorts and food & beverage operations across Australia

He joined Airport Retail Enterprises in January 2017 and held a series of senior roles including Head of Central Operations and National General Manager. SSP completed its acquisition of Airport Retail Enterprises’ Australian business in May 2024.

Corey Law is extremely well-regarded in Australian airport food & beverage circles. He is pictured here in May 2024 with The Moodie Davitt Report Founder & Chairman Martin Moodie at the Airport Retail Enterprises/SSP-run Newstead Brewing Co inside Brisbane Airport’s Domestic Terminal.

Law announced his move on LinkedIn, stating: “After ten years with Airport Retail Enterprises and most recently SSP Australia & New Zealand, I have now stepped into a new gig heading up Airport Retail Group (Australia)’s business as Group General Manager.

“A huge shout out to George Drivas for the opportunity to add value to such an awesome business as we go through some huge growth. Exciting times ahead for the business and Australian airports.

“A sincere thank you to John Chapman and Dominic Cain for the opportunity, support and leadership over the years with ARE and SSP.

“I’ve genuinely valued the experience and appreciate everything I’ve learned along the way.”

Among Airport Retail Group (Australia)’s most recent openings was Sydney favourite Maggio’s,  the first brand to begin trading in the Sydney Airport domestic terminal’s major dining redevelopment

Alongside Law’s appointment, Chris Beeton has been promoted to General Manager – Brisbane, while Sastra Dicitra continues as General Manager – Sydney.

Drivas commented in a LinkedIn post: “Earlier this year, I made the decision to introduce a new role to our leadership team – Group General Manager.

“This role will oversee both our Sydney and Brisbane venues, supporting our State GMs while also taking some of the operational load off me, so I can spend more time on the strategic side of the business as we continue to grow.

“Welcome to Corey, and congratulations to Chris on the promotion. 2026 is looking like a strong year ahead for #TeamARGA.” ‍
