New colours: Autocross pens

US. Cross has unveiled its Spring 2008 pen and leather collections, including a business bag range and a pen specially designed for women.

Autocross pen and leather collection

The new Autocross pen and leather collection by Cross comes in new colours of orange, turquoise and metallic bronze leather, in line with the fashion-forward colours of the season.

The Autocross ballpoint pen (retailing at US$50) has an etched and polished chrome top and supple leather body. The Autocross Leather Accessories collection includes a wide selection of personal and business accessories, such as personal agendas, key rings and passport wallets. The designs feature stylish perforation inspired by leather driving gloves and vintage cars. The new Autocross designs for spring make their debut in March 2008.

Cross Town computer bag collection

Four silhouettes: Cross Town totes

The new Cross Town Computer Bag Collection is inspired by the safari trends of the spring fashion collections. Each bag is designed to be used as both a laptop tote and a purse.

Available in many materials, from woven raffia treated with a water-resistant, rubberised backing, to metallic canvas, each bag contains a separate compartment for a standard-sized laptop, and pockets to protect a PDA, mobile phone and pens.

The collection comes in four silhouettes: Sutton, Chelsea, Gramercy and Madison. Options include: lacquered brown or black raffia; black or tan lacquered twill; black and copper metallic canvas; brown with pink metallic canvas or natural and gold metallic canvas. Retail prices range from US$150 to US$225.

Century II Kalahari pens

The new Century II Kalahari patterned pens are inspired by African painted surfaces and tribal motifs.

The brightly coloured pens depict African flora and fauna. The limited edition Kalahari pen features the company’s signature wrap-around patterning technique. Kalahari ballpoint pens are available in three styles and colours. Retail price is US$60.

The Kalahari design is also available on new spiral-bound notebooks. They come in three sizes, ranging in price from US$6 to US$10.

Curvaceous: The Sauvage pen for women echoes the form of a pencil skirt

Sauvage pen for women

The Sauvage is the first Cross pen in its 160-year history that was developed for women. Sauvage features a curvaceous silhouette that echoes the form of a pencil skirt. The deep engraving incorporates exotic animal prints, with a hand-polished, jewellery-like lacquer finish.

The centrepiece of the collection is a pen with a striking giraffe pattern engraved in brown tourmaline coloured lacquer. Ballpoints retail at US$90, Selectip rolling ball pen is US$110, and fountain pen US$160.

In-store from March, the collection also includes three pens with engraved caps accented by lacquer bodies. A zebra pattern complements an onyx shade of lacquer, while a python patterned cap pairs with either an ivory toned lacquer or moonstone coloured lacquer. The new Sauvage pens, each with a pen pouch, are available in ballpoint (US$80), rolling ball pen (US$100), and fountain pen with 18ct solid gold nib with rhodium plate (US$150).
