Davidoff Cigars has released two new assortments – Short Pleasures and Inspirational Robusto – aimed at cigar aficionados seeking a shorter and more intense smoking experience.
Comprising a selection of rich blends in shorter formats, to be enjoyed in 30 to 45 minutes, the Short Pleasures Assortment is a response to the “rising need of aficionados to be able to enjoy a short, relaxing break in their hectic everyday lives”. It includes the Puro d’Oro Gorditos, developed to meet the trend toward shorter cigars with larger ring gauges (3 3/4in x 58) and combining robust flavours and richness to provide an intense experience in a relatively short period of time.

The Davidoff Short Pleasures Assortment (€43.40 or CHF52 for four-piece box) offers:
• Puro d’Oro Gordito – wrapper (Yamasá), binder and filler sourced from Dominican Republic; aroma is strong.
• Millennium Blend Short Robusto – wrapper from Ecuador, binder and filler from Dominican Republic; aroma is medium.
• Grand Cru No. 5 – wrapper from Ecuador, binder and filler from Dominican Republic; aroma is mild to medium.
• Entreacto – wrapper from Ecuador, binder and filler from Dominican Republic; aroma is mild.
The cigar strength is detailed inside the assortment pack and the four cigars are shown on the back of the pack on a scale of 1:2. The Short Pleasures Assortment is available from February at selected tobacconists worldwide.
The Davidoff Inspirational Robusto Assortment (€47.70 or CHF54.90 for three-piece box) presents fuller bodied Davidoff cigars with complex aromas and includes:
• Puro d’Oro Magníficos – the first Davidoff Dominican Puro, an intense and complex blend wrapped in a Yamasá wrapper; wrapper, binder and filler sourced from Dominican Republic and aroma is pure and rich.
• Millennium Blend Short Robusto – said to showcase the brand’s sophistication in blending the complexity of aromas; wrapper from Ecuador, binder and filler from Dominican Republic and aroma is refined and intense.
• Nicaragua Robusto – award winning cigar launched worldwide in 2013; wrapper, binder and filler from Nicaragua, its aroma is said to be unexpected and adventurous.
The Inspirational Robusto assortment is already selling in Switzerland, Germany and the US and will be available worldwide from May/June 2014.
