Davidoff unveils exclusive new look for Chinese New Year

INTERNATIONAL. Imperial Tobacco is to give its core brand Davidoff a new look to celebrate the Chinese New Year in Februrary 2011.

Exclusive to duty free, both Davidoff Classic & Lights/Gold will be dressed in an outer sleeve with a gold floral design embellished with Chinese calligraphy, which translates into “˜In celebration of Spring’.

With the expected upswing in passenger figures and an increased propensity for gifting over the 15-day celebration, Imperial believes that this Chinese New Year Edition will create additional awareness and excitement around the Davidoff brand.

“With this festive edition of Davidoff, we are able to connect our consumers more closely to the brand,” said Imperial Tobacco Brand Marketing Global Duty Free Nigel Ng.

“The presentation is perfect for this widely celebrated holiday – either as a gift or for self purchase. We are very excited about this offer and are looking forward to creating further similar initiatives for the duty free market,” he added.

The Davidoff Chinese New Year Edition will be launched in the first week of January 2011 in the following airports: Hong Kong International, Incheon International, Singapore Changi, Dubai International, Amsterdam Schiphol, Doha International, and Sharjah International. It will also be rolled out in Tokyo, Osaka and Shanghai airports, as well as selected airports in the US.
