Delaware North opens two-storey Summer House Santa Monica at Orlando International Airport

USA. Global hospitality and entertainment company Delaware North has unveiled the final piece in its six-outlet foodservice programme in the new Terminal C at Orlando International Airport. The two-storey Summer House Santa Monica offers multiple dining options and service styles across a 7,027sq ft space.

The California-inspired restaurant – a brand developed and licensed by Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises – has been opened in collaboration with Delaware North joint-venture partners Superior Hospitality and Sweet Mango Hospitality.

Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner for dine-in and carryout, the new restaurant features a seasonal menu paired with what Delaware North describes as “breezy, beach house vibes”. The variety of cuisine on offer includes burgers, tacos, salads and more.

Summer House Santa Monica also offers a market on the first floor with freshly baked cookies and pastries, a coffee bar featuring La Colombe Coffee Roasters and a bar offering an extensive wine and cocktail list.

Greater Orlando Aviation Authority CEO Kevin J. Thibault said: “The vision for Terminal C has always been to provide a variety of options to passengers. We’re pleased that Summer House has opened at Terminal C to provide dining options that cater to our travelling customer that will enhance their experience.”

Delaware North CEO Lou Jacobs said: “We are delighted to be here to officially cut the ribbon at Summer House in this incredible new terminal. We know Terminal C has been a long-held vision for the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority, and we are grateful to be their partners to deliver an exceptional experience to travellers in this world-class travel hub.” 

Lettuce Fly Executive Partner Kevin Reynolds said: “Lettuce has had a working relationship with the Delaware North team for many years and through this partnership we are excited to bring Summer House to Orlando for the first time.”

He added: “This is our first airport project with Delaware North, and we are grateful to them and the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority for giving us the opportunity to bring this restaurant to life.”

Making up the rest of the Delaware North, Superior Hospitality and Sweet Mango Hospitality joint venture foodservice programme in Terminal C are: 

Raw Jūce: Health-conscious travellers have a choice of cold-pressed juices, smoothies, acai bowls, salads and other organic foods.

Cucina: This proprietary Delaware North concept offers prepared foods, sandwiches and more.

Harvest & Grounds: Delaware North’s proprietary Euro-American bakery and coffee café concept marries a boutique coffee-shop vibe with a food experience. The café offers a menu of specialty espresso and house blends, pastries, warm breakfast sandwiches and gourmet wraps and salads.

Greenbeat: The concept is devoted to the idea that healthy, vibrant and flavoursome food should be accessible to everyone. For that purpose, Delaware North has partnered with numerous suppliers to craft affordable, health-conscious meals.

DeSano Pizzeria: A fast-casual concept that offers woodfired, freshly-made pizzas. ✈
