Desigual’s 150sq m Milan Malpensa T1 store offers the Spring/Summer 13 collection |
Spanish fashion brand Desigual has continued its travel retail expansion with the opening of a store in Milan Malpensa Airport.
The 150sq m boutique in Terminal 1 offers the Spring/Summer 13 collection for women and accessories.
Under the company’s slogan – “La Vida Es Chula. Sex, Fun & Love”, which inspires this year’s collection – the assortment includes dresses, shirts, coats and shoes as well as its new concept for purses and scarves which has been specially designed for travel retailers.
The store is located in a prime, high-traffic area, and its design evokes a bazaar – “a space where artwork, old lamps, Turkish carpets and travel souvenirs coexist creating a unique atmosphere that aims to create a sense of something different, positive and fun”, according to the brand.
New store in Milan Malpensa T2
Desigual is strengthening its presence in the Italian travel retail market, which represents around 12% of its European sales. Desigual already operates in Rome, Milan, Naples, Turin, Verona, Venice and Palermo, both in train stations and airports, and is preparing a new store in Milan Malpensa T2 this month.
“These new openings confirm the brand’s commitment to greater international presence and innovation in the world’s busiest airports, such as Barcelona, Ibiza, Madrid, Paris, Amsterdam, Dallas, Houston, Miami, New York, Los Angeles, Buenos Aires, Lima, Cancun, Kuala Lumpur, Shanghai Hongqiao and Singapore Changi.”
