FRANCE. Christian Dior was the best-distributed fragrances and cosmetics brand in inflight retail for the summer and autumn period in 2010 (June to October), according to the latest annual inflight survey from respected French research house DRP.
The Moodie Report has an informal agreement with DRP to both preview and publish selected findings from the group’s various studies. The survey is based on the inflight shopping catalogues for the summer/autumn period drawn from 106 airlines surveyed, and from over 8,500 beauty skus.
Lancôme ranked second behind Dior in the listings by brands category, with Calvin Klein third.
Ranked by product line, the best-ranked item was Dolce & Gabbana The One, followed by Calvin Klein Miniatures and Dior J’Adore.
Ranked by house, L’Oréal topped the list, followed by LVMH and P&G.
The survey also carried some findings on the average number of beauty skus by airline (52) and on inflight prices. The average price for a woman’s edt was €49 while for men’s the price was €45. The average price for make-up was €29, for facial skincare it was €58 and for a make-up palette the figure stood at €44.
