IRELAND. Dublin Airport is to trial a new honesty-based food & beverage unit in Terminal 1.
An Honest Eats Co fridge will be installed at Marqette’s airside location in the terminal later this month. Passengers will be able to pick the items they want from the fridge unit, scan them and pay via a cashless self-service checkout, which accepts card and mobile payment.

There will be about 73 different food and drink options, including a selection of sandwiches, wraps, salads, pastries, snacks and drinks.
“We are constantly seeking to improve the passenger experience at Dublin Airport and are delighted to be working with Marqette to trial the new Honest Eats concept,” said Dublin Airport Managing Director Vincent Harrison.

Marqette owner Michael Wright commented: “Honest Eats has the potential to work really well in an airport setting where passengers in a hurry want to grab high quality food and drink on the go. We’re really excited to be working with Dublin Airport to test this new concept.”
The trial will run for four weeks.
Travel-exclusive ice cream
Marqette has also introduced a range of travel-exclusive ice cream products at Dublin Airport.
The Marqette Gelato unit is located in Terminal One. The ice cream is made on location and features brightly coloured flavours along with vegan-friendly options, the retailer said.
Marqette General Manager Michael Thornton said the introduction of the new Marqette range of Gelato products was intended to enhance customers’ experience at Dublin Airport during the busy summer months.
“Ice cream is synonymous with holidays and appeals to all age groups,” Marqette said. “The range has proved very popular since it was launched a few weeks ago.”
Marqette was named Airport Food Hall of the Year in the 2017 edition of The FAB Awards.
