Family-run Swiss chocolate company Maestrani exhibited for the first time at last month’s TFWA World Exhibition, where it highlighted its travel retail exclusive Munz Kids range.
The recently launched Munz Kids line features premium Swiss chocolates with praline fillings, presented in five animal gift boxes: panda, penguin, turtle, bee and ladybird. The company revealed in Cannes that it is currently working on a camel gift box design, as it aims to increase its presence in the Middle East.
Munz products are available at Sharjah International Airport with Dufry, and the company is currently in talks with Dubai Duty Free.
First launched into Asian travel retail with Dufry in January this year, Munz Kids products are available at Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport and Gimhae International Airport in Busan, South Korea. The company has reported “positive sales results” since the listings.
Next month, the Munz Kids collection will be introduced at Hong Kong International Airport with DFS, in time for the main gifting season.
Europe has been earmarked as a “very important” market and the company is looking to strengthen its presence in the region. The Munz Kids range is currently listed at Nuance locations in Switzerland, Bulgaria and Malta.
Maestrani Sales Director Thomas Leitner said that the company has reported +20% year-on-year sales growth in the travel retail channel, with Munz Kids products being “a big contributor” towards sales. He added that the company’s aim is to strongly increase worldwide distribution and sales, specifically through the travel retail channel.
Other lines under the Munz brand include Munz Swiss Premium, Munz Swissness and the recently launched Munz Destination range.
