PERU. Lagardère Travel Retail has strengthened its presence at Lima Jorge Chávez International Airport with the opening of Duty Free Express, a new ‘last minute’ duty-free store positioned to capture passenger spend in the final moments before boarding.
The 182sq m unit further expands the retailer’s commercial footprint at the airport following the June 2025 opening of 4,000sq m of duty-free and duty-paid retail space, alongside a 3,300sq m dining area in the airport’s new terminal (read our story here).

Located close to airline gates, Duty Free Express has been designed to meet the needs of time-pressed travellers through a streamlined retail proposition spanning perfumes and cosmetics, liquor, food, fashion and travel essentials.
Lagardère Travel Retail said the opening forms part of a broader strategy to create a comprehensive commercial ecosystem at Jorge Chávez International Airport, combining a flagship core duty-free operation with a complementary convenience-led retail format.
The retailer added that the concept is intended to cater to a broad range of passenger missions, from impulse gifting and forgotten travel essentials to last-minute self-purchases.

Lima Airport Partners Retail Business Manager Marinela Beke said: “The opening of Duty Free Express marks another step forward in strengthening the commercial offering of the new Jorge Chávez Airport.
“We want every passenger to find a shopping experience at the airport that is agile, modern and aligned with the international standards that today define the world’s leading airport terminals.”
Lagardère Travel Retail Peru CEO Miguel Ruiz said: “This new opening is important in that it will help us to maximise the commercial opportunity at Lima Jorge Chávez Airport, while offering travellers even greater choice and convenience.
“As ever we are grateful to Lima Airport Partners for their support in helping identify new ways to serve our customers even more efficiently.” ✈
