
CHINA. Foreo Global Travel Retail Director Gary Leong, who has played such a key role in the Swedish beauty tech and wellbeing brand’s impressive rise in the channel over recent years, has left the company amicably to pursue new challenges.
The Shanghai-based executive joined the company in October 2016, building the Foreo Global Travel Retail division from scratch and expanding its distribution from an initial 60 locations to 250 by the end of pre-pandemic 2019.
He drove Foreo’s successful expansion into Hainan’s offshore duty free sector where the brand now has ten counters and four more for sister label FAQ.
Leong, who has 22 years’ experience in global retail, has considerable experience and expertise across the travel retail, luxury, beauty and communications sectors.
Before joining Foreo, Leong was Director, Business Development and Communications, Greater China for Swiss luxury fashion house Akris.
As revealed in a June 2022 interview with The Moodie Davitt Report, he is also an expert on (and collector of) fine wines, spirits and cigars.
