SPAIN. Food & beverage company Areas has opened a La Place outlet at Barcelona–El Prat Airport. It is the second opening for the brand in Spain, following a launch at Adolfo Suárez Madrid Barajas Airport last year.
La Place is a Dutch restaurant chain that aims to serve healthy, fast food. It offers a selection of natural and healthy products created with fresh, seasonal ingredients, Areas said. Dishes are prepared in full view of diners. There are currently around 100 La Place outlets across the world, with many in airports.

In Barcelona, the 905q m grab and go La Place outlet (pictured above) has capacity for 200 guests and is located on the second floor of Terminal 1.
The menu features a variety of cuisines across four themed areas. These are: healthy foods, La Place’s core concept; salads, juices and smoothies, Italian pizzas and pastas; a coffee shop with pastries and fresh fruit; and Asian food with wok options based on fresh vegetables.

The launch of La Place is part of Areas’ contract to open 15 concessions at Adolfo Suárez Madrid Barajas Airport. Ten have now opened since July 2018, with the remaining five to follow soon.
