
SINGAPORE. Single malt Scotch whisky house The Macallan (Edrington) has partnered with Lotte Duty Free and Changi Airport Group to open the brand’s first shop-in-shop at Singapore Changi Airport. It is located at the Lotte Duty Free Central Duplex wines, spirits & tobacco store in Terminal 3.
The 19sq m shop-in-shop invites travellers to discover The Macallan’s heritage, craftsmanship and whisky-making credentials in a multi-sensorial and digital environment. Brand consultants are on-hand to educate, inspire and guide shoppers through the portfolio.
At the heart of the space is The Macallan’s first-ever island bar within a shop-in-shop concept. Introduced at Changi to create a more open and welcoming layout, the island bar encourages closer interaction between travellers and brand consultants.

The countertop is finished in The Macallan’s signature red, a colour closely linked to the brand’s history. The surrounding oak wave patterns are inspired by the flowing curves of The Macallan distillery roof and the rolling Speyside landscape shaped by the River Spey. Together, these elements form a distinctive architectural expression that reflects The Macallan’s visual identity.
The island bar also functions as the primary tasting area, offering travellers the opportunity to sample a curated selection of travel retail exclusives and limited releases, including the Colour Collection and The Harmony Collection Inspired by Organic Cherrywood Lapsang Tea.

Gifting rituals, such as the addition of branded ribbons, further enhance the experience, allowing shoppers to personalise purchases.
Digital engagement plays a central role in the shop-in-shop experience. Highlights include the Discover Your Expression, which is supported by a dedicated nosing experience, designed to help shoppers identify the most suitable whisky for themselves or as a gift.
In addition, travellers can discover the Six Pillars experience, which features spherical sculptures that represent each of The Macallan’s Six Pillars. It offers an immersive and educational journey into the brand’s foundations and the creation of its distinctive spirit.

The opening marks a milestone for The Macallan at one of the world’s most prominent aviation hubs. With Changi Airport being named the World’s Best Airport 2025 by Skytrax, it is a strategically important location for consumer recruitment and brand engagement across the region, Edrington said.
