SINGAPORE. Changi Airport has launched a series of Sesame Street-themed activities and events which will run during school holidays this year.
Popular characters from the long-running television series such as Elmo, Big Bird, Cookie Monster and Oscar the Grouch will feature as part of the ‘Changi Loves Kids’ initiative.

A first-in-Asia pop-up exhibition featuring thematic zones and favourite scenes from the show will run between 9 March and 1 May. ‘Our Street to Yours’ will be located in Terminal 3 Basement 2 and Changi Airport Group said it would encourage travellers to take photos and share them on Instagram.
A 30m-long inflatable playground will be set up in Terminal 3’s Departure Hall from 9 March to 8 April, before moving to Terminal 4 from 25 May to 1 July. Inflatable Fun with Sesame Street at Changi will feature a 4.7m-tall slide, a multi-coloured ball pit, and inflatable obstacles such as tunnels, a ladder and a climbing wall.
Gachapon machines will dispense Sesame Street-themed capsules filled with deals and prizes from shops and restaurants in the airport.

A range of limited-edition Sesame Street and exclusive Changi Loves Kids collectibles will also be offered. These include collectible notebooks embossed with Sesame Street characters, which are available progressively from 5 March to 1 May.
Children can also redeem a ‘Passport to Fun’ by collecting stamps for the adventures they complete. ‘Fast passes’ to future Sesame Street activities and other prizes will be offered.
From 9 March, participating restaurants in the public area will offer children colouring and sticker books featuring Sesame Street characters and other themes. They can also collect exclusive Sesame Street stickers at participating restaurants or any Information or Customer Service counters in the public areas of Terminal 1, 2, 3 and 4.

“With the Changi Loves Kids initiative, we want to make the airport the go-to destination for families to shop, dine and play,” said Changi Airport Group Vice President for Landside Concession James Fong.
“For many of us, Sesame Street was a significant part of our childhood and we grew up learning with these lovable characters. We are delighted to partner with Sesame Street to create fun, endearing and interactive spaces for the children that would also bring nostalgic delight for their parents.”

Further Sesame Street events will take place during the school holidays in June and September as well as Children’s Day in October. More details will be unveiled closer to the time.
