Gebr. Heinemann returns to Düsseldorf Airport after ten years

Düsseldorf Airport announces the return of its long-time retail partner

GERMANY. Gebr. Heinemann yesterday returned to Düsseldorf Airport as the duty free and Travel Value retailer after a decade away,

The family-held German retailer had held the contract for 20 years until World Duty Free Group (acquired by Dufry in 2015) secured the business in 2013.

As the contract changed hands overnight, 80 members of the Gebr. Heinemann team nationwide set up four shops across three terminal, unpacking and displaying some 200 pallets of goods ready in time to trade the next morning. The company plans to start renovation work immediately to present the stores with a “completely new look” promised for the summer. ✈
