GERMANY. Frankfurt Airport Retail, the joint venture between Gebr. Heinemann and Fraport, today announced the appointment of Gordana Schiel – from the Gebr. Heinemann side – as Managing Director, a role she shares with Fraport’s Georg Fuhrmann.
Schiel will assume her position on 1 January, succeeding Richard Hoyer, whom Frankfurt Airport Retail thanked for his commitment.
Hoyer will return to Gebr Heinemann’s Hamburg headquarters as Vice President Sales APAC & Transition Management.
Niclas Lammers will take over from Schiel as Managing Director of Heinemann Düsseldorf Duty Free, effective 1 January.
Lammers – who has been with Gebr. Heinemann since 2014 – progressed through various roles in Miami, Vienna, and Bologna, including Senior Sales Manager for Western Europe. Most recently, he led the Category Management at Frankfurt Airport.
Schiel brings extensive experience in the travel and retail sectors. She has been Managing Director of Heinemann Düsseldorf Duty Free since January 2023, where she successfully re-established the location after the Hamburg-based family business returned to Düsseldorf Airport after a ten-year absence.
“We are delighted to welcome Gordana Schiel to our team. Her expertise and commitment will be crucial to continuing the successful development of Frankfurt Airport Retail,” said Fraport Senior Executive Vice President Retail and Properties Karl-Heinz Dietrich.
“I am convinced that she will make a valuable contribution with her vision and leadership style.”
Gebr. Heinemann Chief Sales Officer Florian Seidel added: “Gordana has proven herself to be an outstanding leader in her career to date.
“I am pleased to be able to further develop a successful Managing Director with this appointment at another important location and I am convinced that she will further develop the business in Frankfurt with fresh ideas and a clear focus on customer satisfaction.
“We are proud to develop internal talents like Niclas and Gordana, who bring value and expertise to our core business. I wish both of them great success in their new roles and look forward to their collaboration with our esteemed partners, Düsseldorf Airport and Fraport.”
