SWEDEN. Swedavia, the state-owned company which owns and operates the major airports in Sweden, has rolled out online booking to Göteborg Landvetter Airport, partnering with UK company Chauntry.
The solution – already implemented at Sweden’s number one airport, Stockholm Arlanda – proved such a success that the group has now expanded its use to offer car park pre-booking to the 4 million travellers using Göteborg Landvetter each year.
Taking advantage of the “˜Software as a Service’ approach, Swedavia now has a centralised web-based solution running multiple airports, keeping costs low and data consolidated.

Each airport has access to the same Parkspace solution but views only the data for its own airport. Similarly, the income for all bookings is deposited into the relevant airport’s bank account, providing separation for the businesses.
Another important aspect of the solution is the ability to integrate in different ways with the car park management systems. For Swedavia this has meant the opportunity to allow customers to enter the car park using licence plate recognition technology where this is in place, and use credit card recognition in other car park locations.
