Groupe ADP and Lagardère Travel Retail name Sandra Roman as Extime Duty Free Paris President

FRANCE. Groupe ADP and Lagardère Travel Retail have named Sandra Roman (right) as President of their Extime Duty Free Paris joint venture and as a Director of Extime Paris.

She succeeds Guy Bodescot, who has retired after 18 years of distinguished service to the company and after a 45-year career in retail.

The company said he had helped “shape the transformation of the commercial experience in Paris airports and contributed to the premium positioning of Extime Duty Free Paris”. An interview with Bodescot about his career and influences will follow shortly.

The partners said the appointment of Roman “marks a new phase in the continued development of Extime Duty Free Paris, with the ambition of making the commercial offer at Parisian airports even more attractive to international travellers and partner brands”.

Roman previously held senior management posts at Sephora and Etam Group, and has over 25 years of experience in retail, luxury and international development.

“She has led ambitious transformation projects and the development of international distribution networks, with a strong focus on customer experience and operational excellence,” said a statement.

“We are very pleased to welcome Sandra Roman as the head of Extime Duty Free Paris,” said Groupe ADP Deputy CEO in charge of Retail and Hospitality Mathieu Daubert.

“Her recognised experience in the retail and luxury sectors, her ability to drive transformation and her vision for premium retailing will be major assets to the continued development of our model. Alongside the Extime teams and our partners, she will help strengthen even further Paris’ appeal as a shopping destination of choice for international travellers, and will continue the path traced by Guy Bodescot, whom I warmly thank for his immense contribution to Extime’s success at our Paris airports.”

“The success of Extime Duty Free Paris is based on the combination of a shared vision with Groupe ADP, on operational excellence and on constant adaptation to travellers’ expectations,” added Lagardère Travel Retail Chairman and CEO Frédéric Chevalier.

“The arrival of Sandra Roman is a great opportunity to continue this momentum and the development of our offer, our services and the experience we provide daily to millions of passengers. I wish her every success in her new role and thank Guy Bodescot for the decisive contribution he has made to the development of Extime Duty Free Paris.”
