Guerlain expands fragrance portfolio with fabric-inspired ‘second-skin’ Les Eaux collection

Guerlain reframes fragrance through fabric inspirations, introducing Les Eaux as ‘second-skin’ compositions centred on the softness of white musk

FRANCE. Guerlain has expanded the L’Art & la Matière fragrance line with the Les Eaux fragrance collection; a rebranding of the former Matières Confidentielles range.

Les Eaux is a collection of five fragrances characterised by ‘second-skin’ compositions built around the softness of white musk. It launched in global travel retail on 1 April.

The new range stands apart within the L’Art & la Matière portfolio through its conceptual focus on textiles as olfactory compositions. Les Eaux explores the emotional resonance of fabrics and how this can be translated to scent.

The collection now comprises five expressions. It originally comprised the Eau de Cashmere, Eau de Lingerie and Eau de Coton, and now includes two further scents: Eau de Popeline and Eau de Tulle.

Eau de Cashmere is a warm, woody-musk composition inspired by the softness of cashmere, while Eau de Lingerie is a floral-musky scent combining iris, vanilla and white musk for an intimate, ‘second-skin’ effect.

Eau de Coton is a clean, fresh profile built around almond and orange blossom accords, while Eau de Popeline combines mimosa and apricot notes. The latter is also available in the Bee Bottle format under the name Petit Guerlain.

Eau de Tulle is the only eau de parfum in the line. It combines sugared almond, orange blossom and musk.

Guerlain has reinterpreted the L’Art & la Matière bottle design to reinforce the collection’s material narrative. Each fragrance is paired with a pastel colour reflecting its textile inspiration, from cashmere beige to cotton pink and bridal white.

Packaging details include textured labels with a fabric-like finish, cotton cords around the bottle neck and ceramic caps.
