Havana Club’s Mojito Embassy summer tour kicks off at Munich Airport

The promotional space is designed to reflect the vibrant atmosphere of Cuba

Pernod Ricard Travel Retail Europe is celebrating Germany’s love affair with rum this summer with the launch of Havana Club’s Mojito Embassy campaign in five airports across the country.

The German market – the Cuban rum brand’s number one export market – recorded an +8.5% volume increase in 2013, and sustained double-digit growth for the past five years. This makes it a prime launch pad for Pernod Ricard to share an “˜Authentic Cuban’ experience with consumers, the company said.

Havana Club’s Mojito Embassy summer tour includes Munich Terminal 2, Berlin Tegel, Berlin Schonefeld, Nuremburg and Cologne. As the Mojito Embassy’s premier location, Munich will also be celebrating International Mojito Day on 11 July. Consumers will be able to enjoy the Havana Club Añejo 3 Años Mojito while interacting with brand ambassadors, as well as sample Havana Club Anejo 7 Anos, Havana Club Especial and Havana Club Seleccion de Maestros.

The promotional space has been designed to reflect the vibrant atmosphere of Cuba, with the use of bold colours and styling that allude to the rustic bars and street cafés of the capital.

To boost customer engagement, consumers are encouraged to share their Mojito Embassy highlights online using the hash tag #WhatsyourCuba.

Havana Club Brand Manager Libby Wilding commented: “This consumer experience celebrates the local passion for the product and encourages passengers to interact with the brand they know and love. Dialing up Cuban heritage is a concept that Havana Club should take ownership of. We look forward to the conversation continuing online with our #WhatsyourCuba campaign.”

Following its German debut, the Mojito Embassy campaign will continue its tour across additional European destinations, including London Gatwick South Terminal and Schiphol Central and West, later this summer.
