CHINA. HDS Retail Asia Pacific has opened an office in Shanghai, aimed at building its presence in Mainland China. The aim of the new office is to develop the company’s growth in Asia Pacific, where it has 67 stores in Australia, 14 in Hong Kong and nine in Singapore.
Severine Lanthier joins the regional team as General Manager – China. With a background in the HDS group’s wholesale press distribution subsidiary in China, the company said Lanthier was “well versed in all facets of operating within the region’s commercial marketplace”.
CEO Scott Raisin said: “HDS Retail Asia Pacific is excited by the chance to expand its presence in the Asia Pacific region through the diverse range of opportunities available within the travel retail market in China”.
HDS Retail last month unveiled a Chinese Cultural Bookstore concept, Dynasty Books, at Hong Kong International Airport’s new T2 SkyPlaza.
