HMSHost and Fraport USA reveal second Eataly concept in New York JFK Airport Terminal 5

USA. HMSHost and Fraport USA have officially opened Eataly in New York John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport Terminal 5, marking the prominent Italian food & beverage brand’s second location at the travel hub.

The opening follows Eataly’s North American airport debut with the same concession partners in New York JFK Terminal 8 earlier this year (see our story here).

A strong stakeholder attendance marked the ribbon-cutting ceremony for New York JFK Airport’s second Eataly venue

The Terminal 5 venue combines a full-service restaurant, wine bar and curated marketplace featuring grab-and-go options, bringing Eataly’s signature Italian culinary experience to JetBlue’s home terminal.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony and grand opening celebration were hosted by Fraport USA and HMSHost, attracting representatives from airport, airline, government and commercial stakeholders.

Guests sampled menu items and beverages while enjoying live performances from Metropolitan Opera tenor Ben Reisinger and highly acclaimed South Korea-born pianist Bin Yu Sanford.

A pasta-making station also featured as part of the festivities.

Among the speakers were Nathaniel Hezekiah, Deputy Chief of Staff for the Office of Congressman Gregory W. Meeks; Deputy Borough President Michael Mallon; JetBlue Director of Product Sven Singh; New York JFK Airport Deputy General Manager James Cicardo; Fraport USA CEO Sabine Trenk; HMSHost Vice President of Business Development Anthony Alessi; and Eataly Global Head of Franchising Simone Tosato.

Founded by Oscar Farinetti, Eataly now has more than 60 locations worldwide, including 20 across North America.

The concept combines restaurants, cafés, food counters and retail spaces centred on authentic Italian food and wine culture.  ‍
