HMSHost unveils new dining offer at Salt Lake City International Airport

US. HMSHost yesterday celebrated the grand opening of 13 new restaurants at Salt Lake City International Airport. The concession space covers 23,000sq ft and the contracts run until the end of 2021.

HMSHost said the new offer has a “local twist”, as seven of the 13 restaurants are Salt Lake City eateries. The new line-up also boasts a strong international flavour through a mix of Mexican, Greek and Italian concepts.

“Sixty new shops and restaurants are now open at Salt Lake City International Airport and seven more will be added by Christmas,” noted Salt Lake City Department of Airports Executive Director Maureen Riley. “We are very pleased to offer customers updated, refreshed options featuring outstanding local brands and national favourites.”

HMSHost Vice President of Business Development Joe Waller commented: “With our long history in Salt Lake City, we could not be more excited about unveiling these terrific new restaurants. It is a perfect mix of exceptional local restaurants like Market Street Grill and global favourites like Starbucks.”

Three of the local restaurants are in the food court located between Concourses C and D. These include Café Rio, a local Mexican restaurant that uses only fresh ingredients; Greek Souvlaki, a family-owned restaurant serving authentic Greek dishes; and Market Street Grill, a “true Salt Lake City success story” operated by Gastronomy Inc. restaurant group.

Gastronomy Partner Tom Guinney said: “We are delighted to offer travellers from around the globe many of our most popular menu items featuring fresh seafood. Our goal is to deliver to our airport visitors a taste of the Market Street menu, style, service and ambiance for which we are known and which reflects our locations within Salt Lake County.”

Joining the new food court eateries is one of three new Starbucks Coffee cafés.

Concourse C is now home to Salt Lake City Pizza & Pasta, serving authentic Italian cuisine, and Millcreek Coffee Roasters, a family-owned and operated Salt Lake City coffee house established in the early 1990s.

Joining the dining offer at Concourse D is Vivace Cucina Toscana, created by Salt Lake City’s Cucina Restaurant Group. The concept offers rustic Italian fare and an extensive wine list.

Smashburger makes its airport debut in Concourse D, offering a wide selection of toppings for its signature burgers.

Located in Concourse E, local Salt Lake City restaurant High West Distillery & Saloon serves “nouveau western fare and artisan-crafted spirits” alongside an impressive wine list. A Starbucks outlet joins the Concourse E offer in the Terminal 2 lobby.

Concourse B features Auntie Anne’s, offering fresh pretzels in a variety of sweet and savoury flavours, and French Meadow Bakery & Café, which serves healthy organic wraps, soups & salads.

Two new restaurants in Concourse A focus on healthy quick-service dining options – Great Wraps and Market OnTheGo, which offers freshly prepared meals and grab & go snacks.
