HTDF adds shine to gold jewellery portfolio with trio of brands debuting in Hainan

Bringing fresh sparkle to the category, the latest gold jewellery line-up responds to growing traveller demand for contemporary style and cultural meaning

CHINA. Hainan Tourism Investment Duty Free Co (HTDF) has expanded its jewellery offer in Sanya with the exclusive Hainan travel retail debut of Zhou Liu Fu, Zhaojin and CHJ Jewellery.

The additions tap into rising demand for gold jewellery in the region, where domestic brands are reshaping the category through modern design, cultural narratives and pieces that balance investment value with self-expression.

Gold jewellery demand continues to rise, shaped by consumers seeking both investment value and everyday luxury appeal

This shift has increased the appeal of Chinese gold jewellery among younger luxury consumers, closely matching HTDF’s target of attracting trend-conscious, lifestyle-driven shoppers, HTDF noted.

The expansion also strengthens the retailer’s position in the category, building on an existing portfolio that includes key industry players Chow Tai Fook, Lukfook and Lao Miao.

A sparkling showcase from Zhou Liu Fu brings expanded options for gold enthusiasts and collectors, with pieces designed for gifting or personal purchase

The simultaneous openings enhance HTDF’s tiered gold jewellery portfolio, with each brand offering a distinct proposition.

Zhou Liu Fu’s introduction to the Hainan duty-free market highlights its contemporary, trend-forward collections. The brand specialises in wearable gold accessories designed for younger consumers, capturing growing demand for everyday luxury.

Zhaojin’s Hainan debut also provides a platform to showcase its original design concepts and styles inspired by Chinese cultural heritage, while also supporting its ambition to expand through the Hainan Free Trade Port.

CHJ Jewellery brings IP-driven, culturally inspired collections featuring creative, personalised designs for the premium gold jewellery segment.

The expanded gold jewellery offering is expected to further enhance HTDF’s destination appeal, increase customer engagement and conversion, and stimulate spending across the mall, while reinforcing long-term growth in Hainan’s travel retail ecosystem, the company said. 🏝️
