Our regular feature, brought to you in association with Strange Nature Gin from New Zealand, celebrates memorable scenes, moments, launches and campaigns related to the global aviation and travel retail sphere.
USA. Our image selection today comes from Miami International Airport, where Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail (GTR) is promoting its limited-edition Royal Salute 21 Year Old Miami Polo Edition with an eye-catching activation in partnership with retailer Duty Free Americas. It will run throughout this summer.
The experiential pop-up in the Florida airport’s North Terminal strongly features the pink colour of the new edition’s bottle. The promotion is supported by an in-airport static and digital advertising campaign.

At the installation, Royal Salute brand ambassadors are on hand to guide passengers through tasting sessions.
There is also a polo mini-game to enjoy and an opportunity to capture a Miami polo photo featuring branding from the new Royal Salute expression, which is part of the Scotch whisky brand’s Polo Collection.

The Royal Salute 21 Year Old Miami Polo Edition was launched in limited quantities to global travel retail last month, with support from a striking makeover of The Moodie Davitt Report desktop homepage along with an elegantly curated treatment on the mobile website.
Pernod Ricard GTR is showcasing the expression with a 360-degree marketing campaign which involves major activations at other international hub airports including London Heathrow, Singapore Changi, Dubai International, Taipei and São Paulo.

Royal Salute’s link to the polo world dates back over 15 years. The latest polo-inspired expression is endorsed by celebrated polo player and Royal Salute World Polo Ambassador Malcom Borwick.
The Royal Salute 21 Year Old Miami Polo Edition also took centre stage when Pernod Ricard hosted business and media partners in Palm Beach, Florida, on 11 and 12 April for a memorable two-day immersion into the world of the Royal Salute brand.

A highlight of the two-day Palm Beach event – attended by our President Dermot Davitt – was a polo match at Grand Champions Polo Club in Wellington, before a crowd of over 300 guests. It featured Borwick and The Duke of Sussex Prince Harry.
Funds raised from the match went to support the work of the Sentebale charity, which helps vulnerable people in Lesotho and Botswana. You can read the coverage here. ✈
