IRELAND/INTERNATIONAL. More than 3,500 ARI colleagues across three continents came together last month as the travel retailer marked the third anniversary of its ‘Joy On Your Way’ brand expression with a programme of celebrations spanning its international estate.
As reported, the company marked National Day of Joy on 24 June with a campaign to foster closer connections to colleagues and customers across the ARI network. It also featured a striking makeover of The Moodie Davitt Report desktop homepage along with an elegantly curated treatment of our mobile website.

Reviewing the campaign, ARI said in a statement: “From colleague recognition and wellbeing initiatives to customer experiences and cultural activations, ‘Joy Day’ 2026 demonstrated how a shared brand expression has evolved into a unifying force across ARI’s business, bringing people together across countries, cultures and communities.
“Over 1,000 photographs were shared through ARI’s live Joy Wall, creating a real-time snapshot of the people, moments and connections that bring ‘Joy On Your Way’ to life every day.”

At the heart of this year’s celebrations was ARI’s hero film (below), which saw the company’s signature red balloon travel across its global network, connecting colleagues from Dublin to destinations across Europe, North America and the Middle East.
Alongside a globally curated playlist and locally led activations, the campaign aimed to reinforce the shared values that unite ARI’s teams while celebrating the character of each market.
ARI CEO Ray Hernan said: “Three years on, ‘Joy On Your Way’ has become far more than a brand expression. It has become part of how we think, how we make decisions and how we create value across our business.
“In an industry increasingly shaped by technology and automation, our greatest differentiator remains our people. Joy reminds us that meaningful human connections are what travellers remember, what partners value and what continues to set ARI apart.”
The celebrations, said ARI, highlighted a trend across travel retail and hospitality, where businesses are placing emphasis on “human connection, culture and experience as differentiators in an increasingly digital world”.
While technology continues to transform the passenger journey, ARI noted that the quality of the relationships it builds with colleagues, partners and travellers remains “fundamental to long-term success”. This year’s Joy Day programme reflected that belief, demonstrating how local teams can bring a shared global vision to life in ways that feel authentic to their own communities, added the company.

Across the ARI estate, celebrations reflected the diversity of the business. In Portugal, National Day of Joy evolved into a month-long programme combining colleague recognition, sustainability initiatives, cultural experiences and community engagement, with more than 800 colleagues recognised through dedicated activities.
In Canada, teams focused on colleague wellbeing and appreciation while creating memorable moments for travellers through acts of hospitality and surprise.
In Cyprus, family-friendly experiences and colourful activations brought memorable moments to passengers travelling through Larnaca and Paphos airports during the busy summer season.
ARI Global Head of Marketing Sarah Jane Lynch said: “The biggest impact of Joy On Your Way has been creating a shared sense of purpose across our global business. Whether you’re in Montreal, Cyprus, Portugal, Muscat or Dublin, teams understand what it means and what it looks like in practice.
“One of the biggest mistakes global brands can make is confusing consistency with uniformity. We want every location expressing the same idea in a way that feels authentic to its own people and community. That’s what makes Joy On Your Way work globally.”
Three years after its launch, ARI said Joy On Your Way continues to shape how the company “engages colleagues, strengthens partnerships and creates memorable experiences for travellers around the world”.
