Inflight Sales Group strengthens management team

ISG General Manager Tommy Yiu

HONG KONG. Inflight Sales Group (ISG), the Hong Kong-based inflight concessionaire, has announced two key additions to its management team with the appointment of Tommy Yiu to the newly created position of General Manager and the promotion of Clara Lam as Manager – Product Innovation.

Yiu will be reporting directly to Group Managing Director Tony Detter, and will be responsible for overall supplier strategy as well as overseeing all daily business operations of the inflight retailer. Lam will be responsible for developing new categories, brands and potential products for the company.

“ISG has experienced very strong growth in the last few years, and has a positive outlook for the next three to five years as well,” noted Detter.

“Our goal is to not only continue to improve our management of the current business, but also to continue to offer additional products and services to our customers. Both these positions are part of ISG’s drive to further improve and differentiate ourselves from our competitors.

“We are very fortunate to recruit Tommy to ISG. He has an extensive background in travel retail, with a long and varied career as a Global Merchant with Duty Free Shoppers (DFS) in San Francisco, Taiwan and Hong Kong, as the APAC Director for Parfums Christian Dior Travel Retail, as well as being responsible for the multiple retail platform expansion for Home Shopping Network in China with Bob Miller, DFS’s co-founder.”

Detter added: “He offers a great wealth of management and systems experience, as well as involvement in launching new businesses, and we are excited to see what his contributions will be.

“ISG’s greatest success has come from its search for new products, brands, and categories of goods, and we believe this area is so critical to our future success that we have created a new business unit of the company, separate from the existing commercial team structure, devoted to innovation and newness.

“Clara has been with ISG for more than four years, first working as the Assistant Manager on our Cathay Pacific account, and then working as the Account Manager for Dragonair these last three years. She has helped us grow the Dragonair business significantly during that time, and is very well suited to identify emerging trends and new brands to further build the business across all our airline customers,” Detter concluded.
