International Travel Retail Confederation spreads web of influence with new information service

INTERNATIONAL. The International Travel Retail Confederation (ITRC) announced today the launch of its new website at www.itrc-europe.com

The new site, apart from offering general information about the ITRC, will provide access to the latest information on current issues being addressed by the Confederation, including the continuing campaign work in relation to WHO’s FCTC treaty on duty free tobacco sales, Espace Voyageur and EU enlargement.

Alan Bork, the ITRC board director who heads up the specialist team responsible for enhancing ITRC communications, including developing a new website, commented: “We believe that the new site will not only provide ITRC member companies with immediate access to the latest information on issues that are of key importance to their businesses, it will also be a valuable tool in communicating on issues crucial for the industry globally, such as the WHO’s tobacco treaty.”

The site was developed in cooperation with TFWA’s marketing director, Jean-Marc Caubet, and their website service providers, Préférences. The professional support received from Caubet and his team had been crucial in bringing the site on line in such a relatively short period of time, said Bork.

The site will also have a members-only section that will contain confidential information on finances, strategic plans and comprehensive membership contact details. Access to documentation on EU taxation issues will follow shortly.

It is anticipated that links to the website will be available from other industry and trade association sites.

The Moodie Report will offer a permanent link to the ITRC site from later this week.
