INTERNATIONAL. Mondelez World Travel Retail (WTR) today (12 February) announced an extraordinarily generous and creative initiative in support of #KickCancerThon, the travel retail industry-wide visibility and fundraising campaign for cancer research.
Mondelez WTR is donating US$1 for every Toblerone Pink Crush bar sold through Qatar Duty Free at Hamad International Airport.

As reported, Mondelez WTR and Qatar Duty Free partnered in late December to unveil Toblerone Pink Crush in a three-month, world-exclusive travel retail debut.
The launch brings together Toblerone’s confectionery innovation with QDF’s expertise in curating distinctive, experience-led retail activations.

The limited-edition Toblerone Pink Crush reimagines the brand’s signature recipe courtesy of a white chocolate base blended with honey and almond nougat. The flavour profile is elevated with tangy berry notes to deliver its distinctive pink hue.
Each of the 6,000 bars is individually numbered with a restricted allotment released daily, positioning Toblerone Pink Crush as a rare collectible in travel retail.

#KickCancerThon is the brainchild of the late Sinead Moodie, at the time Chief Operating Officer for The Moodie Davitt Report.
As revealed in her August 2025 Blog, Sinead was diagnosed last July with NUT Carcinoma Lung Cancer, a rare, ultra-aggressive variant of the disease. She subsequently underwent chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatment at The Royal Marsden Hospital in London.
Tragically, Sinead lost her battle for life on 1 February, the very same day #KickCancerThon officially kicked off. The campaign continues in her honour and memory.
It is a classic ‘Think Global, Act Local’ initiative.
{This short film was played at the start of The Trinity Forum in Doha, Qatar last week to honour Sinead’s memory}
Mondelez WTR Vice President and Managing Director Joost Rosmuller reached out to The Moodie Davitt Report just after The Trinity Forum 2026, held in Doha on 5-6 February.
He said: “I want to express how deeply saddened we all are by the loss of Sinead. Her bravery, her spirit and her dedication to the #KickCancerThon project have resonated profoundly with us. Her determination to help others, even in her own battle, was truly inspiring.
“To honour Sinead’s legacy and support #KickCancerThon, Mondelez World Travel Retail would like to commit to donating US$1 for every Toblerone Pink Crush bar sold in Doha. We anticipate approximately 6,000 bars will be sold by the end of February. We hope this contribution can help further Sinead’s mission and continue the fight against this terrible disease.”
Sinead’s Blog, which outlined her determination not to let this terrible diagnosis define her – “Cancer may not believe in karma, but I will make my own” – led to an astounding outpouring of support for her fight against the disease, and multiple industry initiatives for #KickCancerThon both before and since her passing.
If you are unable to participate in #KickCancerThon and/or would like to support Sinead’s memory and chosen cause, The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, we have created a dedicated #KickCancerThon page.
The Moodie Davitt Report is asking the travel retail and aviation communities to join us this month (and beyond if that suits better) in raising funds and visibility for local cancer research or cancer treatment causes around the world.
The industry response (see Case Studies below) has been astonishing. We are profiling each local effort and the chosen cause in question.
We will bring you more news on the latest #KickCancerThon initiatives in coming days. If you would like to join this global + local campaign, please email Martin Moodie at Martin@MoodieDavittReport.com headed #KickCancerThon. ✈

19. Miami-based Avolta team steps out in style
The Avolta Miami HQ team hit the road on Sunday (8 February) in support of LIVE LIKE BELLA Childhood Cancer Foundation and #KickCancerThon.

Dufry (Avolta) America Human Resources Director Maddie Moreno told The Moodie Davitt Report: “Our deepest condolences on the loss of Sinead. Cancer is a devastating disease that does not discriminate by age, sex, religion or race.
“Today, it is sadly difficult to find someone who has not been touched by cancer in some way. At the Avolta Miami HQ office, we have also taken on the #KickCancerThon challenge.
“We have chosen to support LIVE LIKE BELLA Childhood Cancer Foundation, which was created in 2013 in memory of Bella Rodriguez‑Torres, a young girl who passed away at the age of ten after a six‑year battle with cancer.
“To date, the foundation has raised and distributed over US$9 million in assistance – proof that initiatives like this truly take root and make a meaningful difference for families affected by this disease.”
The Avolta team members all took part in the 5k run organised by the LIVE LIKE BELLA Childhood Cancer Foundation on a chilly Sunday morning.

“We were able to raise US$1,200 as well as boost awareness with our campaign,” Maddie told The Moodie Davitt Report. “This event is something that was not on our radar until Sinead’s challenge incentivised us to look for ways we could contribute.
“The team discovered that it is a great event the entire family can be a part of. We are grateful to have the opportunity to do our part in fighting this terrible disease.”

18. ARI Middle East steps up. Together.
Here we feature a typically creative and marvellously brilliant campaign from Aer Rianta International (ARI) Middle East led by the indefatigable, wonderful and free-spirited Tracy Ross, ARI Middle East Head of Plannning & Design.
Dubbed ‘A Journey with purpose’, the ARI Middle East team is participating in a 58km ‘virtual’ hike from Lukla Airport (Tenzing-Hillary Airport) – the starting point for treks towards Mount Everest Base Camp – to raise awareness and funds for Bahrain Cancer Society.
“This virtual mission allows colleagues and friends from across the globe to come together and all share in the same purpose, as they track their virtual steps on the satellite map… stepping ‘together’ to raise awareness for this dreadful disease and in support of Sinead Moodie,” Tracy wrote when the project was launched in late January
”By doing this mission ‘virtually’, not only are we able to unite colleagues around the globe, but in so doing, we save on carbon footprint by NOT taking actual flights!”
The Bahrain Cancer Society was established in 1989 as a voluntary non-profitable organisation. Since the, the society has worked hard to provide education and information to the public about causes of cancer, treatment, and methods of prevention.
The society has also been supporting relevant research studies undertaken by individuals or institutes and providing training for those participating in the field of cancer prevention.
The Bahrain Cancer Society is seeking public support and the aid of all concerned Bahraini institutes as well as cancer prevention programmes in the region, the Arab world and the international arena to achieve its plans.

To follow this bold and beautiful mission, click here.
To support the ARI Middle East and Bahrain Cancer Society cause, click here.
If you would like to join this virtual mission, please direct message Tracy on LinkedIn.
“Let’s take steps together to raise awareness and fight cancer. Watch this space as our team grows with some more exciting supporters who will be stepping ‘together’ with the ARI-ME team,” Tracy added.
Here is a chronology to date of this great expedition.

ARI ME’s ‘Mission Anthem’
By now you’ve all seen Moodie’s mission,
Heard Sinead’s story, her fire, her fight.
A road no one ever chooses,
But she’s still fighting, still full of light.
This illness touches so many,
Family, friends, far and wide.
So we lace up, we show up,
And turn our footsteps into hope
(Pre-chorus)
Hands up, hearts open, here we go,
This is bigger than me or you.
We won’t just watch from the sidelines…
We’re walking this walk with you.
(Chorus)
Sinead we are all with you in spirit,
As we set off, feel the rhythm, feel it move.
We walk the walk, we fight the fight,
Every single step says, “We’re with you.”
From Lukla up to the skyline,
To Everest touching the blue,
Step by step, breath by breath,
We’re walking this walk with you.
From Kathmandu to Lukla Airport
Where the world feels wild and new.
Fifty-eight kilometres of purpose,
Every mile saying, “We’ve got you.”
Twenty-eight days of motion,
Of turning hope into footsteps
Every step a celebration,
Every heartbeat louder now.

16. Azzurra One Enterprise creates Circular Quay to Darling Harbour 10k walk

Azzura One Enterprise, the outstanding Australian airport retail promotional agency, is raising funds for Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, an acclaimed Sydney-based independent, comprehensive cancer centre (see below for more details), in support of #KickCancerThon.
Azzurra One Enterprise Founder & Executive Director Toni Martello (one of The Moodie Davitt Report’s People of the Year in 2023) has created a dedicated page (click here to donate) for this fine local cause and is organising a 10km walk from Circular Quay to Darling Harbour in February to help boost awareness and support. The company plans to raise a remarkable A$135,000 (US$93,000) and is well on the way.
Toni comments on her fundraising page: “We are coming together as part of #KickCancerThon – a ‘Think Global, Act Local’ initiative dedicated to supporting cancer research worldwide.
“To clarify, this campaign is not a personal fundraiser for Sinead. Instead, it is a collective stand against cancer – a disease that touches countless lives. Every contribution, big or small, will go directly toward funding research, providing support, and giving hope to those facing cancer. If you are able to give, we and Sinead would be deeply grateful for your generosity.

“Let’s unite for this important cause, give what we can, and help overcome this relentless disease together. Thank you for your kindness.”

15. Bluedog Group sets forth on a marathon medley
In a fantastic collective initiative, Bluedog Group agencies Essential Communications, doplr, HEX, Kounter and Underlined are proudly taking part in #KickCancerThon, the industry-wide effort to raise awareness and funds for cancer charities, including The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity.
During February, colleagues from Bluedog Group agencies will collectively complete a marathon distance, contributing through a mix of walking, running, cycling and swimming.

Reflecting both the collaborative and symbolic spirit of #KickCancerThon, each participant’s route will be designed to form a letter or symbol, with the combined activities spelling out a message relevant to the cause and to those affected by cancer.
Each participant will carry a symbolic baton, passing it on to the next team member to create a continuous chain of support and solidarity.
Together, their efforts will become a visible and meaningful message of hope. The challenge is designed not only to encourage participation at all fitness levels, but also to provide a visible and creative expression of support that aligns with the wider industry movement behind #KickCancerThon.
Donations can be made via https://www.justgiving.com/page/kickcancerthon.
Alongside the collective challenge, Essential Communications Managing Director Row Holland will also be undertaking a personal endurance challenge in early May, taking part in The Royal Marsden Brighton to Eastbourne Marathon Walk (South Downs Challenge).

The route includes the renowned and demanding Seven Sisters coastal path and Firle Beacon, making it one of the most challenging marathon walks in the UK. For Row Holland’s donation page for her Marathon challenge in May, please visit https://www.justgiving.com/page/rowena-holland-1

In addition to funds raised individually, each Bluedog Group agency will make a corporate donation, helping to maximise the overall contribution to the Royal Marsden and the broader #KickCancerThon fundraising effort.
“#KickCancerThon is incredibly powerful because it brings the industry together around something that really matters. Sinead’s bravery and resilience have been an inspiration to so many, and this challenge is our way of standing in solidarity with her, Martin and their family, and with everyone affected by cancer,” said Bluedog Group CEO Nick King.
“We’re proud to play our part and to support the vital work being done by The Royal Marsden and other cancer charities.”
14. EVERRICH Duty Free team members reveal peak conditioning for #KickCancerThon
Earlier this month we reported how Claire Ma, Senior Manager with the retailer’s brilliant Public Affairs department, had got things underway by hiking to Yushan (Mount Jade), the highest peak in Taiwan at an elevation of 3,952 metres.

Today we can reveal that Claire was not alone. In a Facebook post, Claire writes lyrically in English and Chinese:

13: The Mercurius Group gets set to step up (and swim) in support
#KickCancerThon is heading down under, Australia to be precise, thanks to a fantastically innovative team effort from leading aviation-to-travel retail commercial revenues consultancy firm The Mercurius Group.
“I am super proud to confirm that the entire team from The Mercurius Group is joining #KickCancerThon through raising funds for the Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF),” said company Founder & Managing Director Ivo Favotto.
Each team member (Ivo and Leanne Favotto, Diane Owens, Fraser Reynolds, Matthew Quoi and Shane de Wit) has set their own goals to walk, run or swim the marathon distance of 42.19km throughout February (scroll down for full details).
“With the team residing and travelling throughout the region and world, we’ll be recording our endeavours with some inspiring location shots,” Ivo explained.
The ACRF is dedicated to progressing cancer research in Australia.
“At Australian Cancer Research Foundation, we believe a world without cancer is possible,” the organisation says. “Guided by some of the brightest minds in cancer research, we continuously look for new and improved ways to prevent, detect and treat cancer.
“We back bold ideas – ideas that lead to breakthroughs and discoveries that help each individual diagnosed with this complex and disruptive disease.

“Thanks to our generous supporters, we have awarded 89 grants totalling over A$200 million (US$134 million) to 44 Australian research institutions.”
To kickstart fun raising, The Mercurius Group is generously donating A$500 per employee and inviting its considerable network to make their own donations through the Australian Cancer Research Foundation – #KickCancerThon Mercurius Group
Here’s how Team Mercurius plans to do it.
Diane Owens: As a lifelong swimmer, and all-round active sporting event enthusiast, Diane set herself the challenge to swim 42.19km throughout February. With a number of travel commitments from home in Cairns, Tropical North Queensland, to hometown Brighouse, West Yorkshire, the choice of swimming locations (outdoor Olympic-sized pools to resort pools to indoor council pools) together with weather risks (cyclones to blizzards) will add to Diane’s challenge.
Ivo Favotto: To add some extra challenge to his regular Saturday morning ‘mates and dog’ walk, Ivo has committed to up his total steps in February to 42.19km. As a frequent traveller to clients throughout Oceania he’ll be packing his walking shoes and sharing photos of his morning walks in the many picturesque locations.
Matthew Quoi: Residing in Jakarta, congestion and air quality pushes Matt’s activity choices indoors. Making use of the air-conditioned (including filtered air) gym, he’s upping the month’s distance challenge to 42.19km on the stationary treadmill together with travels to Singapore and Japan, where he’ll also venture outdoors for his steps.
Fraser Reynolds: Known for his love of a fine coffee and croissant, Fraser will be adding some extra kms to his daily café walk with the challenge to get his total monthly steps up to 42.19km. Living close to Sydney’s iconic beaches Fraser will be sharing some pictures of his daily café walks as burns off the croissant calories.
Leanne Favotto: Leanne will be strapping on her walking shoes. Focussing on her ‘mindfulness me time’, she’ll be pounding out 42.19km around Sydney Harbour foreshores. Expect some glorious shots of one of the world’s great sights.
Shane de Wit: Reconnecting to his running days, Shane is also committing to managing 42.19km during February. Living in the mid-coast of New South Wales, his run should also produce some stunning shots.
12. Meet Ireland’s dashing Duty Free ‘Global-trotters’
The great globe-trotting team from Barry Geoghegan’s acclaimed Irish travel retail drinks specialist Duty Free Global are taking their running shoes on their work travels in February to collectively complete the marathon distance in aid of Irish Cancer Society as part of #KickCancerThon.

“Our team is proud to support this fantastic initiative from The Moodie Davitt Report for our great friends Martin and Dermot and, most importantly, in support of the incredibly brave and positive Sinead, who is facing a very challenging time. We send her our love, strength, and unwavering support,” Barry said.
Company Chief Operating Officer Nathalie Roelands added, “At Duty Free Global we believe in showing up for our people and our community.
“Across our travels, we’ll be completing a marathon and sharing moments from around the world. We invite our network to support in whatever way feels right — by joining in, sharing, or donating. Every gesture helps raise awareness and supports global cancer charities.

Barry commented, “Feel free to join us and share a photo from wherever you are in the world. We know many donation requests are made throughout the year, but this is a truly global cause aimed at raising awareness for cancer charities.”
Irish Cancer Society is the largest voluntary funder of cancer research in Ireland and is committed to improving the lives of cancer patients the country through that research. The public donations that make its work possible allow the funding of more than 100 research professionals in top Irish institutions.
Irish Cancer Society describes itself as “a community of patients, survivors, volunteers, supporters, health and social care professionals and researchers.
”Together we are transforming the experiences and outcomes of people affected by cancer,” it says.
11. Sunil Tuli prepares to show attitude at altitude
King Power Group (Hong Kong) CEO and Asia Pacific Travel Retail Association (APTRA) President Sunil Tuli is joining the burgeoning #KickCancerThon movement by taking on a daunting Himalayan trek in aid of Asian Fund for Cancer Research (AFCR).
Writing on his fundraising page, Sunil said: “Every step upward supports progress against cancer.
“In February 2026, I will be representing Team King Power Group (Hong Kong), in supporting the #KickCancerThon initiative by heading to the Annapurna region of Nepal to do the Mardi Himal Trek. This is a five-day expedition rising to an altitude of 4,500 metres.”
The acclaimed AFCR is committed to funding cancer research, especially those cancers prevalent in Asian populations, and promoting high-impact global collaborations to save the lives of cancer patients.

The organisation believes research holds the key that may end cancer.
AFCR places the highest priority in advancing cutting-edge cancer research that will lead to better preventative methods, advanced diagnostic tools, and more effective treatment approaches.
It funds projects in a variety of key research fields, such as overcoming cancer’s resistance to chemotherapy, developing new screening tests for early detection, optimising approaches of personalised medicine and stopping cancer metastasis.
Sunil commented: “This five-day trek will surely test my endurance but it’s worth it to support Sinead’s admirable charitable initiative to raise global visibility and funds for cancer research.”
Sunil has set a target of US$20k and has already reached over US$6,000. “Every dollar raised will go to the AFCR as I am funding the trip expenses myself. I am grateful for every donation, thank you,” he concludes.
10. The great Rémy and Rémi combo
Rémy Cointreau Area Director GTR – Africa, Middle-East, India Rémi Brabant showed his support for #KickCancerThon in extraordinary fashion by completing the gruelling 50-kilometre Ultra Trail Dubai last month.
Ultra Trail Dubai, held on 6-7 December, is described as the Middle East’s newest and most ambitious trail event.
Competitors have to cross the toughest ridge lines and remote wilderness of Hatta, with relentless climbs, technical descents and sweeping views that (allegedly) reward the pain.
Rémi not only completed the event but donated the equivalent of his registration fee to The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, The Moodie Davitt Report’s nominated charity for #KickCancerThon.
He even provided documentary evidence of his achievement via the brilliant video below.
The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity is dedicated to funding life-saving research to develop the next generation of cancer treatment. Revenues are used to help diagnose cancer earlier and provide better treatments, tailored to an individual’s needs.
It funds clinicians and researchers at The Royal Marsden as well as state-of-the-art equipment and technology needed for the research.

Janice will embark on a beach-to-beach walk in Koh Samui, Thailand, while Faye will lace up her running shoes to go the distance on Surrey road runs across multiple weekends in February. They will be sharing an update, once completed, via TRBusiness.com.
The dynamic TRBusiness duo has generously asked for donations to be added to The Moodie Davitt Report’s JustGiving page in support of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. And the title has kindly donated £700 to the cause.
“We are in awe of Sinead’s bravery in sharing her journey – our thoughts are with her and the family,” said Faye.
“It’s inspiring to see the industry come together in support of #KickCancerThon and we hope our small effort can help to make a difference.”

3. El Gordo Tacos & Grill & Global Drinks Limited, Hong Kong: The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity
Have you ever heard of a ‘Taco-meter’?
Chances are if you visited El Gordo Tacos & Grill Factory in Wan Chai, Hong Kong during November, you will have.

El Gordo Tacos & Grill Factory, known unofficially as ‘Travel Retail APAC HQ’ (and to me and others, simply Harry’s Place) is an outstanding Mexican restaurant in Wan Chai’s bustling Lockhart Road.
It is owned by Harry Kartasis, Founder of Hong Kong-based Global Drinks Limited, the acclaimed brand agency focused on four key business areas: brand management, account management, supply chain and customer service. Harry is also the owner of acclaimed Japanese whisky Misaka.
So to the ‘Taco-meter’. To coincide with Lung Cancer Awareness Month in November and in recognition of Sinead’s diagnosis, Harry and the culinarily brilliant El Gordo team launched ‘The Sinead Especial’, a sublimely tastebud-tempting Taco based on some of Sinead’s favourite ingredients.
The ‘Taco-meter’ measured every order of ‘The Sinead Especial’, from which HK$5 will be donated to The Royal Marsden Charity in the UK.
“Our Sinead Especial Tacos has done very well, we closed it off at 2k Tacos,” Harry told The Moodie Davitt Report in early December.
That is a lot – a whole lot – of Tacos. Every one of them consumed both with pleasure and for a good cause,

The landmark ICA International Half Marathon attracted more than 3,000 participants from across the world, Ministers, Ambassadors, corporations, Flemingo Duty Free and Sri Lankans of all ages in a celebration of health, unity and community support.

The scenic race route started and finished at the famed Galle Face Green. The ICA (also supported by Flemingo Duty Free) also raised funds for 10,600 children living in Sri Lankan orphanages.
We will bring you more details and photos from Flemingo Duty Free’s epic effort on behalf of its chosen cause in coming days. ✈

1. Wand Technology, Israel: Top bidder to choose their cancer cause
Waving a magic Wand. That’s what Ian Kay, Operations Director at Wand Technology, an outstandingly creative Israeli company which uses technology to help airlines, airports and travel retailers to grow ancillary revenues, especially in the lounge space, is doing for the #KickCancerThon cause.
Ian’s daughter Sophie (below) is a botanical artist. Nine years ago she created a marvellous piece (pictured right) for a UK charity that, like #KickCancerThon, was raising money and awareness for cancer charities (and, as the image conveys, lung cancer specifically).
Sophie painted this beautiful artpiece and donated it for auction at a charity dinner, subsequently raising £2.5k (US$3.3k) for lung cancer research.
The brilliantly talented young artist has offered to paint a second work for #KickCancerThon and Ian and Wand Technology have kindly submitted the first £1k (US$1.3k) guaranteed bid.
Such generosity must be echoed, and The Moodie Davitt Report Publisher Irene Revilla has raised the bid to US$2k. Any further bids (which will go a cancer cause of your choice) can be tabled to Martin@MoodieDavittReport.com
