UKRAINE. More than 2,268sq m of duty free and food & beverage space is to be leased at Kiev Borypsil Airport Terminal D under a new tender launched by Ukraine’s State Property Fund.
The longest contract duration offered under the current tender is two years and 11 months. Locations include nine duty free spaces totalling 1,425sq m on the third floor of Terminal D and a further two – covering 53.7sq m and 36.9sq m – on the fourth floor.
A further non-food retail area of 40sq m is also available on the third floor of the terminal.

Two restaurants of 300sq m and 240sq m on the third floor are also under tender, along with two café-bars; a 118sq m bar serving alcohol and a 55sq m outlet without alcohol.
Bids for the sites can be submitted until 13 August, with the tender to be held on 19 August. That represents an ultra-tight timeline, which together with stringent qualifying conditions has led to criticism of the process in some quarters.
Ukrainian retailer Pavo Duty Free currently operates duty free shops at Terminal D. Aer Rianta International and Gebr Heinemann (with local partner BF Group) also both operate duty free shops at the airport.
Terminal D is the airport’s second international terminal – the other is Terminal F – and was opened in May 2012. The airport represents 65% of passenger traffic in Ukraine, and is the only airport in the country to serve intercontinental routes.
