INTERNATIONAL. Lagardère Travel Retail has launched its annual airport shopping promotion that sees two customers gain the chance of winning a million dollars.
The Airport Millionaire promotion, known as ‘Airport Million’Air’ in Europe, is running simultaneously across eight countries in Europe and the Pacific this month and next (July and August).


In Europe, Airport Million’Air is running from 3 July to 28 August in 70 shops in Italy, France, Luxembourg, the UK, and the Czech Republic. Participants must spend €5 or more (excluding tobacco) in Aelia Duty Free stores. Upon buying certain ‘Gold’ or ‘Platinum’ brands, customers receive bonus chances to win.
If purchases are made with VISA, the customer receives three further bonus chances to win, Lagardère said. Airport Million’air is also available online via a dedicated mini-website, through the retailer’s Click&Collect and Shop&Collect websites, and through social networks.
In the Pacific region, Airport Millionaire has been launched for the fourth consecutive year. It is running across Lagardère Travel Retail’s network of stores in Australia and New Zealand from 3 July to 3 September 2018. The promotion covers the company’s Duty Free, Travel Essentials and Foodservice stores.

Lagardère Travel Retail said it hoped the promotion would create excitement instore and drive sales. It coincides with a “360° communication campaign to increase footfall, penetration, and instil a memorable consumer experience with POS materials, online visibility and local team effort”.
