Seasonal gifting remains a powerful driver for confectionery in travel retail, with Lindt continuing to invest in high-impact retail theatre tied to key cultural moments. Pictured is the Lunar New Year activation with Dubai Duty Free at Dubai International Airport.

Lindt & Sprüngli Global Travel Retail brought gifting to life in global travel retail with recent seasonal activations tied to key festive occasions, including Lunar New Year, Holi and Easter.

The programme, which captured gifting demand during such peak travel periods, featured culturally relevant executions throughout Asia Pacific, the Middle East, India, Latin America and European travel retail.

Seasonal assortments were presented via dedicated gondolas, large-scale installations and segmented displays designed to simplify navigation across gifting categories and price points.

Products featured included LINDOR tubes and seasonal gift bags, Napolitains, Gold Bunny products and Swiss Masterpieces Pralinés spanning smaller tokens through to premium sharing formats.

For Lunar New Year, Lindt activated across several Asia Pacific travel retail locations. These included Hainan, Shanghai, Taiwan, Singapore Changi Airport, Sydney Airport and Malaysia, as well as Dubai and Toronto.

The animations incorporated a strong red-and-gold visual identity, a colour scheme associated with prosperity and good fortune. This was supported by festive merchandising intended to reinforce gifting relevance.

Located along key passenger routes, the displays targeted travellers returning home or visiting family during one of the busiest gifting periods of the year.

Holi activations light up India and Middle East

Lindt translated the vibrancy of Holi into immersive airport retail environments at airports in Bengaluru and Hyderabad

Lindt’s Holi-themed executions lit up Middle East and India travel retail locations, including Kempegowda International Airport Bengaluru (Bengaluru Duty Free, the joint venture between BIAL and Avolta-owned Dufry) and Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (Hyderabad Duty Free) in Hyderabad.

The Holi campaign, centred on LINDOR, featured circular gondolas, tiered displays and vibrant floor graphics inspired by traditional colour powders associated with the festival.

According to Lindt, the colourful displays not only appealed to travellers celebrating Holi, but also attracted a broader international audience through bold colour palettes and visually distinctive merchandising.

Easter campaign scales up Gold Bunny

Easter serves as a key gifting period for Lindt, as its festive activations centred on the Lindt Gold Bunny, the brand’s most recognisable seasonal symbol.

In Geneva (Lagardère Travel Retail) and Basel (Avolta) airports, gondola displays showcased the Lindt Gold Bunny. While in São Paulo and Buenos Aires with Avolta, Lindt expanded the executions into larger-format installations featuring oversized Gold Bunny structures and multi-fixture layouts, including circular towers and arch-shaped displays.

According to Lindt, the Easter activations demonstrated how the company adapts its seasonal retail approach across different store formats and footprints while maintaining consistent global brand storytelling.

Lindt & Sprüngli Head of Global Travel Retail Peter Zehnder said, “Festive moments are a powerful driver in travel retail, not only because of their cultural significance, but because they align naturally with the way people travel and gift.

“Across Lunar New Year, Holi and Easter, we have focused on creating environments that are immediately recognisable, easy to shop and designed to drive conversion at key moments in the passenger journey.

“This consistency, combined with local adaptation, allows us to expand these activations globally while maintaining their relevance in each market.”
