LIQUOR: Allied Domecq appoints new Americas duty free chief

US. Allied Domecq Duty Free announced today the appointment of Andy Consuegra as Vice President, Americas to succeed Mike Holden who has recently moved within the group to take up a new appointment as Vice President, Business Services and Development with the wines group. Andy will be based in the Miami office and will commence his new role on 3 March 2003.

Consuegra entered the wine and spirit business with Heublein, which was ultimately absorbed by Diageo in
1992. He has held a number of key positions within Diageo, most recently as vice president marketing, channel sales and trade marketing for Diageo Brazil.

Allied Domecq Duty Free president Charles Richardson commented: “I am particularly pleased to welcome Andy to the duty free team. He has a fine record in the spirits industry and will add new dimensions to both the Americas market with all its complexity and also to our Global Duty Free Executive Group.
