URUGUAY. The London Supply Group Foundation – the charity arm of duty free retailer London Supply – has raised a record amount at its tenth charity golf tournament. The funds will go towards the construction of the Mother Teresa of Calcutta nursery school in the Argentinian Primero de Mayo neighbourhood, one of the most underprivileged districts in the city of Puerto Iguazú. The construction of the nursery is part of the educational project which aims to offer assistance, medical and psychological advice to pregnant women. The project will also provide children with the necessary nutritional, sanitary and educational care to ensure good development during the crucial early years of their lives.
The Mother Teresa of Calcutta nursery school is planned to open in mid-2014 and will provide care for babies and toddlers from 45 days old to six years old. A further classroom for children aged four to six years old will also be built next to the nursery.
