SOUTH KOREA. Lotte Duty Free has donated KRW50 million (US$33,000) to upgrade the treatment facility at the children’s rehabilitation centre at Bobath Memorial Hospital in the city of Hanam.
The donation was presented during a ceremony at the hospital yesterday (19 May), with representatives from both sides in attendance, including Lotte Duty Free Head of Sales Yang Hee-sang, Lotte Medical Foundation Chair Kim Cheon-ju, and Hanam Bobath Hospital Director Kang Yu-jin.

The contribution continues Lotte Duty Free’s longstanding partnership with Bobath Memorial Hospital, which began in 2019, in support of expanding children’s rehabilitation treatment infrastructure.
Over the years, the retailer has contributed KRW61 million (US$40,433) through rehabilitation treatment support, Children’s Day sponsorship initiatives and ongoing employee volunteer and CSR activities.
This year’s donation will be used to upgrade treatment facilities, expand specialised rehabilitation equipment and strengthen the centre’s operational base, ensuring children receive treatment in a more stable environment.
Apart from the financial donation, the retailer is also running an internal fundraising campaign and plans to donate snacks, drinks, and other items.
A Lotte Duty Free representative said, “Since participating in the Bobath bazaar in 2019, we have continued our partnership with Bobath Memorial Hospital through various initiatives, including Children’s Day gift sponsorships and employee volunteer activities.
“Through this development fund donation, we will continue supporting young patients so they can receive treatment in a better environment.”

The company has also been expanding its social contribution work in other areas. As reported, Lotte Duty Free recruited five athletes with disabilities as part of a wider push into sports ESG activities.
The move reinforces the company’s commitment to deepening coexistence with local communities while simultaneously broadening its CSR programmes. ✈
