SOUTH KOREA. Lotte Duty Free has partnered with fast-growing online grocery delivery platform Market Kurly in a cross-promotional drive in 2019. The grocery service was established in 2015 and offers premium, organic groceries for home delivery.
Customers who spend more than US$1 at Lotte Duty Free’s online store can download a discount coupon valued at KRW5,000 (US$4.50) that can be used to purchase through Market Kurley’s web shop, from 17 January to 12 February. Lotte Duty Free said that shoppers who use its online apps can connect to Market Kurly’s app easily.
The partners said they intend to promote each other’s online services with further campaigns in 2019.

As reported, Lotte Duty Free’s online sales boomed by 50% year-on-year to KRW2 trillion (almost US$1.8 billion) in 2018. That represented around 25% of total revenue compared to just 8% in 2013, a more than tripling of share.
The company said that aggressive marketing to customers in their 20s and 30s was the basis for this growth, aided by price-off campaigns on certain key shopping days.
Lotte Duty Free e-Commerce Managing Director Lee Jeong-min said: “We plan to partner with various platforms that lead the latest trends. We will do our best to improve not only our differentiated shopping benefits but also the lifestyle of customers.”
