US. LS travel retail North America has opened an iStore and Porsche Design shop at New York JFK Airport Terminal 8, marking the company’s debut in the terminal.
The stores embrace over 1,500sq ft of retail space and are expected to generate about US$23 million in sales over the contract term.
The two stores are located in the prime hallway of Concourse B, at the entrance of the connector leading to Concourse C. Both are tailored to T8’s consumer base and serve arriving and departing international travellers.
The 740sq ft iStore (pictured below) offers personal mobile devices and accessories, including tablets, e-readers and headphones from leading brands Apple, Sony, Bose, and many more. iStore, one of the fastest-growing airport specialty concepts, is the only Apple specialist with over four years’ experience in North American airports, LS travel retail North America said.

iStore offers a unique shopping experience, allowing travellers to interact directly with mobile technologies, the retailer added.
The 1,090sq ft Porsche Design store features a high-end selection of apparel and accessories for men and women, including luggage, bags, watches, sunglasses and small leathergoods. “Porsche Design stands for products that combine functional, timeless and “˜puristic’ design with impressive technical innovations,” LS travel retail North America said.

“We are excited to be expanding our operations in JFK,” said LS travel retail North America Chief Development Officer Vadim Motlik. “JFK Terminal 8 is an important component for American Airlines and we are thrilled to be partnering once again with [master concessionaire] Westfield to deliver superior shopping experiences to the travellers”.
“We are proud to welcome iStore and Porsche Design’s first US airport location to our world-class retail line-up at Terminal 8,” said Westfield Executive Vice President Dominic Lowe. “These two additions will support our efforts to continuously enhance the traveller’s experience.”
With over 49 million passengers in 2012, JFK is the 17th busiest airport in the world and sixth busiest in the USA. Terminal 8 alone handles close to 9 million passengers. It is an American Airlines hub and one of the largest terminals in JFK.
