Luxottica Group develops travel retail team – 18/10/07

ITALY. Italian sunglasses giant Luxottica Group has announced the latest phase in the growth of its travel retail department in a bid to further increase its attention on the channel and develop its customer service worldwide.

Following the creation of a dedicated marketing division for travel retail in 2005 and the recent appointment of Group Travel Retail Director Francis Gros, Luxottica has implemented a new team structure with regional sales managers appointed for the Americas, Europe Middle East & Africa and Asia.

Marco Gadola has been appointed Travel Retail Sales Area Manager Americas, overseeing North, Central and South America business.

Travel Retail Sales Area Coordinator Tatiana Patarroyo will assist Gadola in the region from the company’s Miami office.

A new role has been created to manage Europe, Middle East and Africa, which will be handled by Elisa Gasparini, who joins the team this month as Travel Retail Sales Area Manager Europe.

Also, to strengthen the company’s global position in travel retail, Anne Guillet has been appointed Travel Retail Key Account Manager to oversee the key travel retail clients.

Recognising the need for a dedicated team in Asia, the company is also in the process of appointing a Travel Retail Sales Area Manager for the region.

Travel Retail Marketing Manager Monica Bortoluzzi heads the travel retail marketing team, which was established in 2005 and has recently been strengthened by the appointment of Roberta Rosso as Travel Retail Marketing Assistant.

The new structure of the global travel retail team aims to ensure that Luxottica and its brand portfolio remains the leader in the category and can develop its retail and marketing initiatives consistently across the global market, the company said.

The travel retail department remains focused on its goal to provide a seamless service to its customers and to have a strong, consistent presence in the travel retail channel.

The creation of these new roles enables the company to further expand its business and to have more focus on the customers within each region, it said.
