US. LVMH Moët Hennessy Louis Vuitton has announced the appointment of Daniel Lalonde as CEO of Maison Moët et Chandon, effective 26 July.
Moët Hennessy Wines and Spirits President and CEO Christophe Navarre said he wished to acknowledge the contribution of Frédéric Cumenal – Lalonde’s predecessor – towards the development of the group’s Champagne activities.
Lalonde, a Canadian national and graduate of the University of Waterloo and Insead (MBA), began his career in consulting at Deloitte and CVA. In 1992 he joined Häagen-Dazs in France as Director of Stores before moving to Nestlé in 1994 as President of Nespresso for the US. In 1997 he was appointed COO of Nespresso.
In 2002 he joined the LVMH Group as President & CEO, North America for the Watches and Jewelry business group, before becoming President and CEO of Louis Vuitton North America in 2006.
