This Floral White wrap has been a hit onboard Emirates since late last yearUK. Morgan & Oates, the inflight cashmere scarf specialist, aims to start exploring new markets, including ground shops and cruise ships, for 2008.
Morgan & Oates Sales Director Worldwide Kevin Galbraith emphasised that the brand was keen to remain an airline specialist.
He said: “This year we are looking to continue building our airline distribution worldwide and are particularly keen to start tapping the US inflight market, where we believe there is massive potential.
“While we intend to remain an airline specialist, we are also keen to look at possibilities on the ground and with the cruise ship market. We offer a superb range of designs, ranging from the classic plain to the painted floral to the contemporary stripe to the customised exclusive, at price points which suit all market sectors and which we are well placed to serve.”
Turning to current business, Morgan & Oates reports “outstanding” success with Middle Eastern carrier Emirates for its Floral White wrap, which the airline took onboard late last year.
High flier: Air France is poised to list these cream and pink wraps“Sales have been well ahead of expectations, with the airline regularly reordering,” said Galbraith. “As this is our first listing with Emirates, we’re absolutely delighted with the response.”
Meanwhile, the company has gained another listing with Air France for two solid colour wraps, in cream and pink, from February. The carrier has previously successfully carried 100% cashmere scarves during the winter months and was one of the first airlines to list Morgan & Oates hand-painted wraps.
Morgan & Oates specialises in hand painted 20% cashmere/80% fine merino wool (60x180cm) wraps, presented in zipped, see-through packaging that is designed to be compact and ideal for airlines.
For travel retail, the Morgan & Oates designers have created a range of scarves, stoles, wraps and even teddy bears in soft lambswool, cashmere, cashmere and silk and cashmere and merino wool. The fabrics are produced in Scotland, dyed and hand-painted to today’s fashion needs and then individually quality controlled.
