OMAN. A joint promotion between Muscat Duty Free (MDF) and Oman Air is celebrating Oman’s 45th National Day by giving away flights to the airline’s 45 destinations.
The promotion, “˜Around the World in 45 Ways’, sees passengers who spend 30 Omani Riyals (US$80) in either MDF’s store or inflight with Oman Air given the opportunity to enter a draw to win a free flight to one the destinations served by the airline.
The first draw was conducted on 18 November – Oman’s 45th National Day – and was attended by Oman Airport Management Company CEO Sheikh Aiman, Oman Air CEO Paul Gregorowitsch and MDF Chairman Abdulaziz Al Suad Al Raisi. A business class ticket to Frankfurt on Oman Air’s new 787 Dreamliner was given away.
MDF has also added a “˜spin and win’ concept to the promotion, which allows customers entering the draw to spin a “˜Wheel of Fortune’ and potentially win instant prizes.
The retailer said it was also engaging with customers on social media by running an in-store selfie competition for passengers who post their pictures on MDF’s Facebook and Twitter pages.
MDF General Manager Martin Mullen commented: “We are delighted to have the joint promotion with Oman Air for Oman’s 45th National Day. Customers can enter the draw either by shopping in MDF or by purchasing on Oman Air inflight, which is a great partnership initiative.”
The promotion will run until 13 January 2016, with five free flights given away each week.
