UK. Network Rail, with help from Blackjack Promotions, has launched its “˜Get Set For Summer’ campaign as part of a wider drive to promote its London stations as thriving retail destinations.
Kicking off last week at London’s Liverpool Street station, the campaign includes a line-up of live retail shows, music and giveaways. Last summer, the rail operator carried out a similar exercise at London Waterloo.
UK experiential agency Blackjack provided Brazilian dancers and a steel band to entertain passengers as they passed through Victoria Station as part of the same campaign the week before last. Promotional staff have been in place at both locations to give out goodie bags with samples and discount vouchers from station retailers.
Participating retailers at Liverpool Street this week include Lush, Fitness First, Moshi Moshi, Boots, Whistlestop & The Tanning Shop.
Blackjack Promotions Managing Director Sally Alington said: “The sun may not be shining quite as much as we’d all like so far this summer, but the Get Set For Summer campaign is certainly injecting some summer spirit into the capital.
“The campaign was really well received at London Victoria last week, with more than 20,000 goodie bags handed out. This week we’ll bring a similar buzz to London Liverpool Street station. We are delighted to be a part of promoting Network Rail stations as great destinations for some retail therapy.”
