Nordic Travel Retail Seminar agenda takes shape; heavyweight panel to assess future of the trade – 04/05/09

NORDIC REGION. The Nordic Travel Retail Seminar 2009 takes place in Copenhagen on 28 May, and will include a panel of heavyweight speakers from the regional trade, who will discuss the future of the business.

The panel includes The Nuance Group Sweden General Manager Karl Walter, Inflight Service Europe CEO Gustaf Ljunggren, Heinemann-Sæther Chairman Ellinor Sæther and Valora Trade Travel Retail Division Director Dan Kongsted.

Ten years on from the abolition of intra-EU duty free, this and other sessions will focus on how the next ten years might look for the regional business.

Other speakers include Finnair Senior Vice President Christer Haglund, former Danish Vice-Prime Minister Marianne Jelved and keynote speaker and retail analyst Bill Webb from the University of the Arts in London.

The seminar will be moderated by The Moodie Report Deputy Publisher Dermot Davitt.

“Ten years after the abolition of intra-EU duty free sales it is more important than ever to be innovative and to set up long-term goals for business within the travel retail industry,” said Nordic Travel Retail Group Chairman Erik Thomsen. “This is a unique opportunity to meet a great number of clients and business contacts with similar challenges [and] to get inspired,” he added.

Delegates can register and see the full programme on the Nordic Travel Retail Group website www.nordictravelretail.org. The seminar will start late in the morning of 28 May and the venue will be Nordatlantens Brygge, on the waterfront in Copenhagen Harbour. The seminar is booked on a first come, first served basis.
