Origins prescribes Plantscription to tackle ageing skin

Origins’ new Plantscription Anti-Aging Serum

INTERNATIONAL. Origins is poised to introduce a key new addition to its treatment portfolio. Plantscription Anti-Aging Serum will be introduced to all Origins travel retail locations from March. The product is clinically proven to have up to 88% of the wrinkle-reducing effects of leading prescription anti-wrinkle ingredient, retinoic acid – but without the unwanted side effects of photosensitivity, skin shedding, burning, stinging, redness, dryness, flaking and itching.

“As an ethnobotanist and dermatologist, I think the fact that Plantscriptionâ„¢ is derived from plants is fantastic,” explained Board Certified Dermatologist and Ethnobiologist Dr Marcus McFerren, who was chosen by Origins to partner for the launch of this new product. “I think nature has provided us with a whole host of interesting and useful chemicals, and Plantscriptionâ„¢ is just one more example of nature’s bounty.”

Researched for over five years in partnership with plant scientists at the University of Strasbourg, France, Plantscriptionâ„¢ was tested in a face-to-face 20-week study against a gold standard prescription anti-wrinkle ingredient, retinoic acid.

According to recent tests, Plantscriptionâ„¢ Anti-aging serum is clinically proven to have up to 88% of the wrinkle-reducing effects of retinoic acid, without the associated side effects of photosensitivity, skin shedding, burning, stinging, redness, dryness, flaking and itching.

“Plantscriptionâ„¢ is one of the most significant product launches in the history of the Origins brand,” stated Origins Global President and General Manager Jane Lauder. “This revolutionary, patent-pending anti-ageing serum is proven to help support skin’s natural fibrillin, its critical elastic fibre, and in doing so has trumped all of our benchmarks,” added Lynn Mazzella, Senior Vice President, Origins Product Development.

Plantscriptionâ„¢ is said to combat multiple causes of ageing skin, correcting the appearance of lines and wrinkles and loss of firmness by supporting skin’s natural fibrillin, collagen and elastin with the help of key ingredient African Anogeissus.

In tandem with Anogeissus, Siegesbeckia and Rosemary Extract help skin protect its own natural collagen and elastin, which are needed for a healthy, young looking appearance.

Plantscriptionâ„¢ was tested in a 20-week study on women ages 42-63. Twelve different visual parameters including lines, wrinkles, firmness, lifting, clarity, radiance, smoothness, evenness of skin tone, age spots, redness and pore size were biophysically measured.

Evaluating Dermatologist Dr Darren Mollick gave Plantscriptionâ„¢ and a leading retinoid prescription to test subjects and scientifically graded the results for both. Plantscriptionâ„¢ received the best results on line and wrinkle appearance clinical test results in the Origins brand to date.

Plantscription showed both immediate and long term results when used faithfully, according to the brand. After only four weeks of use, the serum showed up to a 51% reduction in the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and after 12 weeks:
– Up to 57% reduction of the overall appearance of lines and wrinkles
– Up to 64% improvement in the appearance of lift
– Up to 41% improvement in skin’s look of firmness

Using ultrasound sonography, Origins found that dermal density and bounce also appeared markedly improved. With continued use, Plantscriptionâ„¢ Anti-aging serum helps fight the appearance of advanced, visible ageing signs such as lines, wrinkles, discoloration, loss of firmness and rough texture, and is said to be safe and effective for all skin types.
