CANADA. Paradies Lagardère has opened two new concepts, The Locks and Maison de la Presse, in a revitalised airside zone at Ottawa International Airport.
The Locks carries a diverse range of convenience items and locally sourced confectionery and gifts. Local brands such as Flourish Stonewear, Garden Path Homemade Soap, Hummingbird Chocolate and Purple Urchin offer travellers an “authentic taste and experience of Canada’s capital region” according to the airport company.
Maison de la Presse features bestselling novels, Canadian and foreign literature and non-fiction, plus various periodicals.

The two stores are the “centrepiece” of a new retail concessions programme, said Ottawa International Airport Authority (OIAA). Paradies Lagardère was the successful respondent to OIAA’s Request for Proposals in 2018 for a new master retail concessionaire.
“We welcome Paradies Lagardère’s long-standing commitment to Ottawa Airport,” said OIAA President and CEO Mark Laroche. “These two new retail stores are tailored for today’s passengers; they combine travel essentials with unique, local specialty products.”
“We congratulate the OIAA on their vision and execution of their outstanding new concessions programme,” said Paradies Lagardère President and CEO Gregg Paradies. “We appreciate their partnership and are thrilled to contribute two fantastic new stores that will engage travellers and enhance the overall experience.”
Over the coming months, as passenger volumes grow, Paradies Lagardère will add other outlets to the revitalised retail concessions programme.
